Key Deadlines for NEET UG Stray Round Counselling

According to the updated schedule, choice locking opens at 5:00 PM today and closes at 11:55 PM. Missing these timelines will disqualify candidates from participating in the final seat allotment round.

The MCC had earlier set November 9 as the last date for the process but later extended it to provide candidates with additional time.

What Is Choice Filling and Locking?

During choice filling, candidates can list their preferred medical and dental colleges in order of priority. They can include as many institutions as they wish from the available options. Once satisfied, students must lock their preferences — a mandatory step that finalizes their selection list.
After locking, no further modifications are allowed, so students are advised to review carefully before confirming their choices.

NEET UG 2025 Seat Matrix Released

The MCC has also published the NEET UG 2025 stray round seat matrix, detailing the remaining vacant seats in various medical and dental colleges across India. The seat matrix helps candidates make informed decisions when filling out preferences. The PDF is available for download on the official MCC website.

NRI Candidate Update

In addition, the MCC has issued an important notice for NRI applicants. The committee has shared a verified list of students eligible for admission under the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) quota, along with the priority order system to be followed for allocation.

Steps to Complete Choice Filling and Locking

1.    Visit the official MCC NEET UG counselling website.

2.    Log in using your registered credentials.

3.    Navigate to the Choice Filling section.

4.    Select and arrange colleges/courses as per preference.

5.    Save your choices periodically.

6.    After 5:00 PM, move to the Choice Locking section.

7.    Review and confirm your final list before 11:55 PM.

Candidates are strongly advised to complete the process well before the deadline and use a stable internet connection to avoid last-minute issues.
