Key Change in JEE Main 2026 Registration

A major update in this year’s registration process is the Aadhaar-based auto-fetch system. Using UIDAI authentication, candidate details such as name, date of birth, gender, photograph, and address will be automatically filled in the JEE Main 2026 application form.

This step aims to simplify the registration process and minimize data entry errors. However, students will still need to manually enter certain details such as their father’s and mother’s names, as these are not stored in Aadhaar records.

In cases where the name on the Aadhaar card and Class 10 marksheet do not match, candidates will be allowed to make corrections.

Clarification on Exam Centres and Aadhaar Update

The public notice issued on October 19, 2025, also clarified earlier concerns about exam centre allocation. Rumours had suggested that JEE Main exam centres would be assigned solely based on the address in the Aadhaar card, eliminating city preference options.

An NTA official has now dismissed these claims, confirming that this interpretation was incorrect. The agency reiterated that it is expanding the number of JEE Main exam cities to improve accessibility for students nationwide and ensure ease of participation.

Steps To Fill the JEE Main 2026 Application Form

·       Registration: Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in. Click on the JEE Main 2026 application form. Register as a ‘New Candidate’.

·       Form-Filling: Log in with your registered details and fill out the form one section at a time.

·       Uploading the Documents and Fee Payment: Upload the JEE Mains 2026 required documents and pay the application fee.
