Refund Timeline & Procedure

The refund of the security deposit will be issued only after the MCC counselling process for all rounds is fully completed. The MCC will formally declare the conclusion of the counselling rounds on its official website.

Once this notification is published:

• The Financial Custodian will start initiating refunds within 15 days.
• The entire refund cycle will be completed within 30 days of the announcement.
• Refunds will be transferred exclusively to the same card or bank account used at the time of making the original payment.
• Candidates must ensure the payment card/bank account remains active until the refund is successfully received.

Important Refund Rules

1. Refund Will Be Sent Only to the Original Payment Account

Refunds cannot be redirected to another bank account or card under any circumstances.
Even if the counselling fee was paid using someone else’s account, the refund will be credited back to the same account.

2. Multiple Payments Made by Mistake

If a candidate accidentally makes more than one payment for the same Roll Number:

• Any excess amount will be refunded 10 days after the registration window closes.
• However, 50% of the registration fee or ₹500 (whichever is lower) will be deducted as administrative charges.

3. No Need to Request a Refund

Candidates do not need to contact the Financial Custodian for initiating the refund.

• MCC will publish the list of eligible candidates for refund on its official portal once counselling ends.
• Refunds will be processed automatically for all eligible candidates.

Avoid Chargeback Requests

Candidates are strongly warned not to file chargeback claims with their banks.

• If a chargeback is initiated, neither MCC nor the Financial Custodian can directly process the refund.
• The candidate will be required to resolve the issue with their card-issuing bank, which can lead to long delays.
• A chargeback withdrawal certificate (NOC) must be provided for any manual refund to be processed afterward.

Financial Custodian Details

HLL Lifecare Ltd., a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, functions as the Financial Custodian for MCC.
They are responsible for managing the collection of counselling fees and the refund of the security deposit on MCC’s behalf.

Additional Refund Instructions

• MCC will not compensate for any bank charges incurred during payment.
• Payments should not be made from NRI accounts. Refunds cannot be sent to NRI accounts due to RBI regulations.
• Candidates who use NRI funds must ensure payment is made through an NRO account.
• No interest is payable on the security deposit amount.
