TNEA 2026 Rank List Released at tneaonline.org; Complete Counselling Schedule Announced, Here's How to Check Your Rank: The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu, has officially released the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026 Rank List on its official website, tneaonline.org. The rank list plays a crucial role in the engineering admission process, as seat allotment for various undergraduate engineering programmes across Tamil Nadu will be conducted based on the ranks secured by candidates.

Along with the publication of the rank list, authorities have also announced the complete TNEA 2026 counselling schedule, including dates for choice filling, seat allotment, allotment confirmation, reporting to colleges or TNEA Facilitation Centres (TFCs), and payment of fees.

Candidates who registered for TNEA 2026 can now log in to the official portal and check their ranks and counselling details.

TNEA 2026 Rank List Released

The release of the rank list marks the beginning of the counselling phase for engineering admissions in Tamil Nadu. Candidates whose names appear in the rank list will be eligible to participate in the subsequent counselling process and compete for seats in government, government-aided, and self-financing engineering colleges across the state.

2.    Click on the 'Rank Details' link available on the homepage.

3.    A list of various category-wise rank PDFs will appear on the screen.

4.    Select the category to which you belong.

5.    The rank list will open in PDF format.

6.    Search for your details and note your rank for counselling purposes.

How Are TNEA 2026 Ranks Prepared?

The TNEA Rank List 2026has been prepared on the basis of marks secured by candidates in the prescribed subjects of the qualifying examination after converting them to a base of 200 marks.

The Directorate uses a normalisation method to ensure fairness among students from different educational boards.

Mathematics carries the highest weightage with 100 marks, while Physics and Chemistry jointly contribute 100 marks towards the preparation of the rank list.

What Happens After the Release of TNEA Ranks?

Following the publication of the rank list, eligible candidates can participate in the counselling process through the following stages:

1. Choice Filling

Candidates must select their preferred engineering colleges and branches and arrange them in order of priority.

2. Seat Allotment

Seats will be allotted based on several factors, including:

  • Candidate's TNEA rank

  • Order of preferences submitted

  • Community and reservation criteria

  • Availability of seats

3. Allotment Confirmation

Candidates must confirm their allotted seats within the specified deadline to proceed with the admission process.

4. Reporting and Fee Payment

After confirmation, candidates need to:

  • Download the provisional allotment order
