WBJEE 2026 Decentralised Counselling Notification Released; Check Eligibility Categories and Application Process: The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has officially released the notification for the WBJEE 2026 Decentralised Counselling process. The counselling process will provide eligible candidates with an opportunity to apply for admission against the remaining vacant seats in participating engineering, technology and pharmacy colleges and institutions.

Candidates who have not yet secured admission through the earlier rounds of counselling can take part in the decentralised counselling process, subject to fulfilling the prescribed eligibility conditions. The detailed schedule for WBJEE Decentralised Counselling 2026, including registration, choice filling and other important activities, is expected to be announced by the board shortly.

Candidates will be required to complete the registration process and submit their preferred choices of colleges and courses within the stipulated period. The seat allotment process will be carried out on the basis of the candidate's WBJEE Rank or JEE Main Rank, depending on the applicable category and eligibility criteria. WBJEE Decentralised Counselling 2026: Eligibility Criteria and Categories

(i) Category-I: WBJEE Rank holders who are domiciled in West Bengal and are eligible for admission against reserved category seats offered by Government and Private Engineering/Pharmacy Colleges, Universities and Institutions, including GKCIET, Malda.

(ii) Category-II: Candidates domiciled in West Bengal who are eligible on the basis of their WBJEE Rank only. Such candidates can seek admission to Government Engineering/Pharmacy Colleges and Universities, subject to the prevailing Government policy.

(iii) Category-III: WBJEE Rank holders who are not domiciled in West Bengal. These candidates may be eligible for admission to State Universities and University Departments, including GKCIET, Malda, subject to applicable rules and norms. They can also seek admission to Private and Self-Financing Engineering and Pharmacy Institutions.

(iv) Category-IV: Candidates holding a valid JEE (Main) Rank will be eligible for admission to those institutes that had offered seats through the JEE (Main) quota.

(v) Category-V: Candidates fulfilling the prescribed percentage of marks requirement in the 10+2 examination, in accordance with the AICTE Guidelines and as mentioned in the WBJEE-2026 Information Bulletin, will be eligible for admission to Private/Self-Financing Engineering, Technology and Pharmacy Institutions, along with other institutions that may be permitted by the competent authority.

WBJEE 2026 Decentralised Counselling: How Will Seat Allotment Be Conducted?

The WBJEEB will conduct the seat allotment process based on the eligibility category applicable to each candidate. Admission to the available vacant seats will be considered using factors such as:
