What is a Safe Score to obtain in IIIT 2026: If you're aiming for JEE 2026 and feeling anxious that not getting into IIT or NIT might ruin your career, remember that there are strong alternatives. Many institutions offer excellent opportunities, with placements in some IIITs even surpassing the average packages of several NITs and newer IITs.

For Tier-3 IITs like IIT Manipur, IIT Ranchi, and IIT Agartala, securing a seat in CSE (Computer Science) generally requires around 96.5% to 97.5% percentile, which equals a target of 150–165 marks. For branches like ECE, you should aim for about 97 percentile, i.e., roughly 160 marks.

For Tier-2 IITs such as IIT Dharwad, IIT Bhopal, and IIT Tirupati, the expected percentile for top branches like CSE is around 97.5% to 98.5%, translating to 170–180 marks. Even for the lowest branches, you would still need around 97–98 percentile, or around 160–170 marks.

When it comes to Tier-1 IIITs, including IIIT Allahabad, IIIT Pune, and IIIT Guwahati, competition is higher. For CSE, aim for 98.5% to 99.5 percentile, meaning 190–235 marks. For comparatively lower branches, a target of 98–99 percentile (approximately 175–210 marks) is needed.

So start giving your best efforts immediately—each mark you score can elevate you from a Tier-3 IIT level to a Tier-1 IIIT level, dramatically strengthening your future career prospects.
