ARUNACHAL PRADESH NEET UG: Entrance exams for MBBS, BDS & AYUSH

ARUNACHAL PRADESH NEET UG 2026 EXAM

The NEET UG 2026 Exam for medical aspirants from Arunachal Pradesh is expected to be conducted on May 3, 2026, in offline (pen-and-paper) mode. The exam will be held by the National Testing Agency (NTA), and the official notification is likely to be released by the end of 2025. Approximately 6,000 to 10,000 students from Arunachal Pradesh are expected to appear for NEET UG 2026.

The NEET UG 2026 application form is expected to be released in the first week of February 2026, and the exam will be available in 13 languages, including English and Hindi (regional language option availability may vary by centre). Students from Arunachal Pradesh planning to take NEET UG can check exam dates, eligibility criteria, registration guidelines, syllabus, and preparation strategies for securing admission into MBBS/BDS seats during the state counselling.

To appear for NEET UG 2026, candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) and must be at least 17 years old on or before December 31, 2026. For admission under the 85% state quota, candidates must comply with Arunachal Pradesh indigenous/local eligibility rules (APST). Limited open (Non-APST) seats are available and are allotted only after APST quota seats are filled. The remaining 15% seats are filled through All-India Quota (AIQ) by MCC.

The official notification, including application details, syllabus, revised exam pattern, and important dates, will be released on the NTA website: www.neet.nta.nic.in

Scoring higher in NEET 2026 is critical to secure an MBBS seat, especially under the state quota at TRIHMS (Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences, Naharlagun), which remains the top and only government MBBS college in the state.

Recent updates indicate that Arunachal Pradesh continues to prioritize APST candidates under the state quota, and admission opportunities for Non-APST applicants remain limited and highly competitive. Counselling will be conducted online by the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (APDHTE) after the NEET results. With rising competition under the state quota, cut-offs for MBBS seats at TRIHMS are expected to increase further for 2026 admissions.

Future revisions in seat allocation and category policies may also occur based on national admission guidelines and reservation updates.

What is Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG 2026

The Arunachal Pradesh NEET Exam refers to the state-level admission process through which students from Arunachal Pradesh secure seats in undergraduate medical and dental programs such as MBBS and BDS, along with AYUSH and selected paramedical courses offered under the state quota. There is no separate entrance exam for the state; admission is granted only on the basis of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted at the national level by the NTA.

The counselling and seat allotment for Arunachal Pradesh medical admissions is conducted by the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (APDHTE) for the 85% State Quota seats, while the remaining 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats are allocated through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). To secure a seat under the state quota, candidates must meet Arunachal Pradesh indigenous/local (APST) or other eligibility criteria, along with qualifying NEET.

A strong NEET score is crucial for candidates aspiring to study in Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS), Naharlagun, which is the premier government medical institution in the state and offers limited seats, resulting in intense competition. The admission procedure includes online registration, document verification, publication of merit lists, and multiple counselling rounds based on NEET score, reservation category, preference choices, and seat availability.

Conducted every year, the Arunachal Pradesh NEET admission process attracts both APST and Non-APST aspirants, reflecting the state’s rising interest in medical education. With the demand for limited MBBS seats increasing each year, securing a government medical seat at TRIHMS has become highly competitive, making strong NEET performance essential for medical aspirants in the state.

ARUNACHAL PRADESH NEET-UG EXAM PATTERN

The NEET-UG exam pattern followed in Arunachal Pradesh is the same national format prescribed by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The examination will continue to be held in offline (pen-and-paper) mode with a total duration of 3 hours.

Students from Arunachal Pradesh appearing for NEET must answer 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions, distributed as follows:

  • 45 questions in Physics
  • 45 questions in Chemistry
  • 90 questions in Biology (Botany + Zoology)

Candidates must shade their responses on the OMR answer sheet using a blue or black ballpoint pen, which is provided at the designated NEET examination centres allotted to Arunachal Pradesh candidates.

The NTA has confirmed that optional questions are removed, and all questions are now mandatory for NEET-UG. This exam pattern applies to students seeking admission in Arunachal Pradesh for MBBS (TRIHMS) as well as for BDS, AYUSH, and Veterinary courses outside the state based on NEET eligibility.

Impact of These Changes (For Arunachal Pradesh Candidates)

  • Higher certainty / uniformity:
Since every question is compulsory, students in Arunachal Pradesh cannot rely on skipping difficult questions. Preparation must be complete and balanced across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  • Increased time pressure:
With no optional questions and the same total duration, candidates must improve speed and accuracy. Practice in time-bound mock tests becomes essential to complete the full paper on time.
  • Reduced confusion in choice:
The removal of optional questions makes the exam format more straightforward. Students don’t need to decide which questions to leave out, lowering exam stress and strategic confusion.
  • Better flexibility in exam centre selection:
The option to provide multiple city preferences helps students from remote and rural regions of Arunachal Pradesh get centres closer to their locality, reducing travel difficulty and expenses.

Arunachal Pradesh NEET-UG 2025 Counselling

The NEET-UG 2025 counselling for Arunachal Pradesh, conducted by the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (APDHTE), began in July 2025 and is expected to continue until November 2025. However, the counselling schedule may be extended further because online registration and document-verification deadlines were revised for late applicants, which could delay the publication of final seat allotment results, especially during the Mop-Up and Stray Vacancy rounds.

As of now, APDHTE has not issued a fully revised counselling calendar, although the admission process was initially projected to conclude by mid-November 2025.

Students who qualified NEET-UG 2025 by securing the minimum cutoff marks are eligible to participate in state counselling for admission into MBBS seats available under:

  • State Quota (85% seats at TRIHMS)
  • Open / Non-APST seats (limited availability)
  • Sponsored / NRI quota seats, if notified by the institution

Candidates from Arunachal Pradesh may also use their NEET qualification to apply for:

  • BDS, AYUSH, Veterinary and other UG medical seats outside the state
  • All India Quota (15% seats) via MCC counselling
  • Deemed University and Private Medical Admissions across India

Arunachal Pradesh NEET-UG 2026 Registration Figures

The official number of NEET-UG 2026 applicants from Arunachal Pradesh will be released by NTA after the completion of the online application process.
In recent years, nearly 6,000–10,000 students from Arunachal Pradesh register for NEET annually, and this number is expected to increase further for NEET-UG 2026.

Why NEET Registration is Growing in Arunachal Pradesh?

  • Removal of upper age limit has allowed more students and repeaters to apply
  • High interest in MBBS at TRIHMS (Government College) due to low fees and reservation benefits for APST students
  • Growing awareness of medical careers and job opportunities in government healthcare
  • Increasing number of students opting for BDS, AYUSH, Veterinary & Nursing outside the state through NEET

Expected Trend:
More students from Arunachal Pradesh are likely to register for NEET 2026 due to increasing demand for government medical seats and healthcare career opportunities in the state and across India.

Arunachal Pradesh NEET-UG 2026 Exam Date

The NEET-UG 2026 examination is expected to be held in May 2026, most likely in the first week of May, following the usual schedule maintained by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The exam will be conducted offline (pen-and-paper mode) from 2 PM to 5 PM across designated centres in India and certain international locations.

For candidates from Arunachal Pradesh, the exam will be held at multiple NEET examination centres within the state and nearby regions, ensuring greater accessibility for students from remote and rural areas, and reducing the need for long-distance travel.

Possible centres (as per previous years) may include:

  • Naharlagun / Itanagar
  • Pasighat (or nearest available location)
  • Other nearby NEET hubs in Assam (Dibrugarh, Tezpur, Guwahati) for candidates who prefer external centres

Arunachal Pradesh NEET-UG Books

Choosing the right study books is essential for scoring well in NEET-UG. For students in Arunachal Pradesh, a balanced combination of NCERT textbooks and trusted reference books is highly recommended. This approach builds strong conceptual understanding, improves problem-solving speed, and ensures alignment with the latest NEET exam pattern based on the NMC syllabus.

Using a focused set of books helps students:

  • Stay clear and confident with fundamentals
  • Practice extensively with exam-oriented questions
  • Develop accuracy, time management, and analytical skills

A well-planned selection of books is key to securing top scores and claiming MBBS seats at TRIHMS or other college options through NEET.

Arunachal Pradesh NEET-UG 2026 Preparation & Recommended Books

To score well in NEET-UG 2026 and secure admission in TRIHMS (Arunachal Pradesh) or other medical colleges through AIQ and private/state counselling, students must follow a focused strategy with the right study resources. Use the following preparation guidelines:

  • Understand the NEET-UG 2026 syllabus and exam pattern clearly before starting preparation. The exam is fully based on the NMC-prescribed syllabus, so make sure every topic aligns with the official NEET curriculum.
  • Choose NCERT textbooks as your primary reference, especially for Biology, as most NEET questions are directly based on NCERT content. Use additional reference books only to strengthen concepts and practice.
  • Create a structured and realistic study timetable, and follow it consistently. Allocate planned time for theory revision, practice questions, and mock tests without neglecting weaker subjects.
  • Solve NEET Previous Year Questions (PYQs) chapter-wise for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. PYQs help you understand commonly tested areas, important concepts, and expected question trends.
  • Regularly take full-length mock tests under real exam conditions to improve speed, accuracy, and decision-making. Use your performance analysis to revise weak areas and strengthen scoring topics.

Arunachal Pradesh NEET-UG Results 2026

The NEET-UG 2026 results will be released online by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on its official result portal. Once the results are published, they will be available in two formats, both of which will be used for the Arunachal Pradesh counselling process:

  • Individual Scorecard
  • All-India Merit List & State-wise Merit List

Following the announcement of national NEET-UG results, the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (APDHTE) will generate a separate State Merit List for Arunachal Pradesh, which will be used for admissions to Government Quota and Reserved Category seats at TRIHMS (Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences).

This State Merit List will determine seat allocation for:

  • 85% State Quota seats at TRIHMS
  • APST / EWS / PwD / Ex-Servicemen / Women reservations
  • Limited Open/Non-APST seats (only if available)

Important:
For BDS, AYUSH, and Veterinary courses, students must use the same NEET results to apply outside Arunachal Pradesh through AIQ or other state counselling systems.

1. Arunachal Pradesh NEET-UG Result Format

Merit List

The Arunachal Pradesh NEET-UG State Merit List is published separately by the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (APDHTE) after the NTA declares the national NEET results.
This list displays the state rank of candidates based on:

  • NEET score
  • Reservation Category (APST, EWS, PwD, Ex-Servicemen, Women, etc.)
  • Local/Indigenous Eligibility (APST / Permanent Resident status)

The merit list is published on the official Arunachal Pradesh counselling portal and remains publicly accessible for verification and reference.

Scorecard

The NEET-UG Scorecard must be downloaded directly from the NTA NEET website, as Arunachal Pradesh does not issue a separate scorecard.

The scorecard includes:

  • Marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
  • Total NEET score (out of 720)
  • Percentile score
  • All India Rank (AIR)
  • Category rank (for national and AIQ counselling)

This original NTA scorecard must be presented during Arunachal Pradesh counselling, certificate verification, and final admission reporting, especially for claiming APST reservation and state quota seats at TRIHMS.

    1. Arunachal Pradesh counselling (APDHTE)
    2. Certificate/document verification
    3. Final admission at TRIHMS (Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences)

Important:
Ensure the scorecard printout is clear and not damaged, as it is required for confirming eligibility under APST / Reservation / State Quota seats.

3. Understanding the Arunachal Pradesh NEET-UG Scorecard

The NEET-UG scorecard issued by NTA is the primary document required for medical admissions in Arunachal Pradesh.
It is used during the State Merit List preparation and counselling conducted by APDHTE for MBBS seats at TRIHMS (Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences).

The scorecard includes the following key details:

  • Candidate’s Name, Roll Number & Application Number
  • Marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (subject-wise & total)
  • Total NEET Marks (out of 720)
  • Percentile Score (as per NTA’s ranking formula)
  • All India Rank (AIR) used for:
    • National AIQ Counselling
    • Arunachal Pradesh State Merit Ranking
  • Category-wise Rank (if applicable) used for:
    • APST Reservation
    • EWS, PwD, Ex-Servicemen & Women quotas at TRIHMS
  • NEET Qualifying Status & Cut-off Eligibility, indicating whether the candidate has qualified for MBBS and other NEET-based course admissions

Note: This NTA scorecard must be preserved carefully, as it is required at every stage of Arunachal Pradesh counselling, verification, and admission.

4. How to Calculate NEET Percentile (For Arunachal Pradesh Candidates)

The NEET percentile indicates how well a student from Arunachal Pradesh has performed compared to all NEET test-takers across India.
It is not based on marks directly, but on the number of candidates who scored lower than you.

Formula:

NEET Percentile = Number of candidates scoring less than you Total number of candidates ×100
Example for Arunachal Pradesh:

Suppose 9,000 candidates from Arunachal Pradesh appear in NEET-UG and 6,750 candidates score lower than a student:

6,7509,000×100=75%

This means the student has a 75 percentile score.

5. Key Points to Remember (Arunachal Pradesh NEET-UG 2026)

  • NEET results are released only online on the NTA website; no physical copy or separate Arunachal Pradesh result will be issued by the state.
  • The NEET scorecard is compulsory for participating in Arunachal Pradesh State counselling, document verification, and seat allotment at TRIHMS, Naharlagun.
  • Percentile score, AIR, and reservation category eligibility (APST, EWS, PwD, Ex-Servicemen, Women, etc.) are used to prepare the Arunachal Pradesh State Merit List for Government Quota seats.
  • Keep your NEET application number and date of birth readily available to avoid login issues when downloading the scorecard and during state counselling registration on the APDHTE portal.

Arunachal Pradesh NEET-UG 2025 Cut-Off

The Arunachal Pradesh NEET-UG 2025 cut-off refers to the minimum NEET score and percentile required for admission to MBBS seats at TRIHMS (Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences, Naharlagun) under the state quota. The cut-off is released separately for different categories based on the reservation policy of the state.

The Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (APDHTE) publishes the category-wise cut-off after the NTA declares NEET results and shares the ranked list of candidates.

Important Highlights

  • The cut-off changes every year, depending on:
    • Difficulty level of the NEET paper
    • Number of applicants from Arunachal Pradesh
    • Seat demand at TRIHMS
    • Reservation categories (APST, EWS, PwD, Women, etc.)
  • Only candidates who score above the NEET qualifying cutoff (NTA) and meet Arunachal Pradesh eligibility rules (APST/PRC/Reservation documents) can participate in state counselling.

    • Limited Open/Non-APST category seats (if available)
    • 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats through MCC (for TRIHMS)

Note: Since Arunachal Pradesh does not have BDS/AYUSH/Veterinary colleges, cut-offs for those courses apply only in other states where students participate using NEET scores.

Common Mistakes to Avoid – Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG Application Form

1. Entering Wrong Personal Details

Spelling mistakes in name, date of birth, Aadhaar details, or parent information can cause issues during TRIHMS document verification, leading to delays or rejection.

2. Incorrect Reservation/Category Selection

Choosing the wrong category (APST, EWS, PwD, Ex-Servicemen, Women quota) or failing to upload valid certificates can remove your right to quota seats at TRIHMS.

3. Not Uploading APST or PRC Certificate

Many students upload only one certificate (either APST or PRC).
For State Quota, both may be required depending on the case. Missing them can force a candidate into Open Category or lead to ineligibility.

4. Uploading Blurred or Invalid Documents

Unclear photographs, signatures, or poorly scanned certificates may fail verification by APDHTE, causing the application to be held or rejected.

5. Mismatch in NEET Scorecard Details

Mistyped NEET roll number, rank, score, percentile, or spelling mismatch with the application can disqualify a candidate during merit list preparation.

6. Incorrect or Missing EWS/Income Certificates

Using expired or invalid EWS/Income certificates will make candidates ineligible for EWS quota, even if they qualify academically.

7. Skipping Required Special Quota Certificates

Candidates applying under PwD, Ex-Servicemen (CAP), Sports, NCC, Women quota often forget to upload proper documents, resulting in automatic removal from these categories.

8. Not Reviewing the Application Before Final Submission

Many candidates fail to verify personal, academic, and certificate details before clicking Submit, causing avoidable rejections.

9. Ignoring Deadlines

Arunachal Pradesh counselling has strict cut-off dates for:

  • Registration
  • Fee payment
  • Document upload

Missing them can cancel your chance for admission for the year.

10. Creating Multiple Accounts

Registering with different phone numbers or emails can lead to conflicting profiles, confusion during verification, and possible application rejection.

Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG 2026 Application Form – Important Tips

  • Verify NEET details carefully (roll number, score, rank, and percentile) before submitting the form. Any error may lead to rejection from the state merit list prepared by APDHTE.
  • Upload both APST and PRC certificates clearly (if claiming State Quota).
Unlike Andhra Pradesh, study certificates are not required, but APST/PRC must be valid and legible. Missing or unclear files may assign you to Open Category or make you ineligible for state quota.
  • Ensure EWS, PwD, Ex-Servicemen, and Women quota certificates are valid and updated before upload. Expired certificates or wrong formats will result in loss of reservation benefits.
  • Use an active mobile number and email ID, as all important alerts—OTP verification, merit list updates, seat allotment, and reporting instructions—will be sent only to registered contacts.
  • Apply early and upload documents well before the deadline to avoid server delays, login errors, or rejection due to incomplete submissions—especially crucial for candidates from remote regions.

Admit Card

ARUNACHAL PRADESH NEET UG: Entrance exams for MBBS, BDS & AYUSH

Admit Card – Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG

The NEET UG 2026 admit card for students from Arunachal Pradesh will be issued online by the National Testing Agency (NTA) a few days before the national-level NEET examination. Since NEET is a central exam, there is no separate admit card for Arunachal Pradesh. Every student who has successfully completed the NEET UG 2026 application process will be able to download the same national admit card using their application number and password/date of birth.

NEET UG 2026 is expected to be held in May 2026, and the admit card is a mandatory document for all candidates, including those appearing from Arunachal Pradesh. Without the admit card, no candidate will be allowed to enter the exam centre or write the exam.

Before releasing the admit card, NTA will issue the NEET UG 2026 Exam City Intimation Slip, which only informs students about the city where their exam centre is located. This slip is not the admit card, but it helps candidates—especially those from remote towns of Arunachal Pradesh—plan their travel in advance if the centre is in another district or neighbouring state (such as Assam).

Once the admit card is released, candidates from Arunachal Pradesh can download it from the NTA NEET official portal using their login credentials. The admit card will include:

  • Candidate’s name, roll number & application number
  • Photograph and signature
  • Exam date and reporting time
  • Duration of the exam
  • Exact exam centre address & centre code
  • Important exam instructions & guidelines

If there are any mistakes in the admit card, such as wrong personal details, incorrect category, or centre information, students must notify NTA immediately for correction.

Important Note:

Students from Arunachal Pradesh must keep the admit card safely even after the exam, as it will be required during:

  • APDHTE counselling for MBBS admission
  • Document verification at TRIHMS
  • Final admission and reporting process

Preparation

ARUNACHAL PRADESH NEET UG: Entrance exams for MBBS, BDS & AYUSH

Arunachal Pradesh NEET Preparation 2026

Preparing for the Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG 2026 exam requires a focused, disciplined, and NCERT-based strategy, as admissions to TRIHMS and other MBBS/BDS seats (AIQ + APST quota) depend entirely on NEET scores. With limited government seats in the state and growing competition, aspirants must build strong conceptual clarity, rigorous practice habits, and balanced long-term preparation across Class 11 and 12 topics.

To succeed in NEET 2026, students from Arunachal Pradesh must strictly follow the NMC/NTA NEET syllabus derived from NCERT, as most questions are directly based on NCERT lines, definitions, diagrams, examples, formulas, and reactions. Since Biology carries 90 questions, mastering NCERT Biology while strengthening application-based understanding in Physics and Chemistry is vital for securing a high rank and government quota seat under APST reservation or AIQ counselling.

Solving full-length mocks, PYQs (Previous Year Questions), and chapter-wise practice tests significantly improves speed, accuracy, and strategy — all of which are crucial to scoring 600+ marks, especially for those targeting MBBS seats at TRIHMS (Naharlagun). Mock tests help improve time management, eliminate conceptual errors, and build exam temperament.

Understanding Arunachal Pradesh reservation rules (APST quota), All India Quota, counselling schedules, cut-off trends, and seat availability helps aspirants set realistic targets and choose colleges smartly. Using a combination of NCERT books, selected reference books, and regular online mock tests ensures a comprehensive and efficient study flow.

To perform well in NEET 2026, focus deeply on NCERT Class 11 & 12 concepts, as the exam remains entirely NCERT-driven. Prioritize NCERT Biology for scoring, while practicing Physics and Chemistry regularly using numerical problem-solving, conceptual reasoning, and reaction-based theory.

Follow a simple, effective learning approach:

Learn Practice Revise

Create short notes, maintain a mistake notebook, revise diagrams, formulas, and reactions daily, and track counselling updates from TRIHMS and MCC after the exam. A disciplined routine, consistent revision, and strong NCERT grasp—combined with full-length mocks—will significantly boost your NEET score and help you secure admission through Arunachal Pradesh medical counselling.

Pattern

ARUNACHAL PRADESH NEET UG: Entrance exams for MBBS, BDS & AYUSH

Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG 2026 Exam Pattern

The Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG 2026 exam pattern is fully aligned with the national NEET UG 2026 examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Arunachal Pradesh does not conduct any separate medical entrance test for MBBS or BDS admissions. Therefore, candidates seeking admission into the state’s medical and dental seats, including Government and Private quota seats, must qualify through the national-level NEET UG exam only. The exam will be held in offline (pen-and-paper OMR) mode, and the tentative NEET UG 2026 exam date is May 3, 2026.

For Arunachal Pradesh state-quota admissions, students will attempt a single standardized question paper of 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology). Following the 2025 revision, the optional Section B has been removed, making all questions mandatory. The distribution remains consistent nationwide: 45 questions each in Physics and Chemistry, and 90 questions in Biology, exactly as prescribed under the NEET-UG framework.

The revised exam duration is 3 hours, reduced from the earlier 3 hours and 20 minutes. The total marks remain 720, and the national marking scheme continues: candidates receive +4 marks for every correct answer and –1 mark for each incorrect response, while unanswered questions carry no marks. NEET UG 2026 will be conducted in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, and other regional languages, ensuring accessibility for candidates from Arunachal Pradesh and across India.

The Major Changes Introduced in the Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG 2026

For the 2026 academic year, a few key updates are expected in the Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG counselling and admission process, which is conducted by the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (APDHTE). Since Arunachal Pradesh does not conduct a separate medical entrance exam, all major changes will directly relate to state-quota counselling, seat allocation guidelines, reservation updates, and document verification rules, based entirely on NEET UG 2026 scores.

These updates will impact admissions under Government and Private/Management quota seats available to candidates from Arunachal Pradesh, including 85% State Quota seats and 15% All India Quota seats at central/state institutions. Aspirants must closely follow revised timelines, eligibility requirements, and mandatory document submission procedures to successfully secure a seat through Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG 2026 counselling.

1. Counselling-Process Changes

The Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG 2026 counselling process is expected to become more streamlined and fully digital under the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (APDHTE). A centralised online document upload and verification system is likely to minimize or eliminate the need for in-person certificate verification at designated centres. The state merit list will be auto-generated using NEET UG 2026 scores, combined with Arunachal Pradesh domicile and reservation criteria, ensuring quicker and more transparent merit preparation.

The counselling pattern will continue to follow Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round, but the schedule is expected to align more closely with the MCC All India Counselling timeline, promoting faster conclusion of state admissions. Seat allotment notifications are likely to be published in a standardised PDF format, displaying critical information such as NEET marks, All India Rank, state rank (if applicable), APST/non-APST status, category, seat type (Government/Management), and allotted college details, ensuring increased transparency for students and parents during the admission process.

2. Tie-Breaking / Merit-List Rules (Arunachal Pradesh Specific)

Although Arunachal Pradesh will prepare the merit list based strictly on NEET UG 2026 scores, the state-specific tie-breaking criteria are likely to follow this order:

  1. Higher marks in Biology
  2. Higher marks in Chemistry
  3. Higher marks in Physics
  4. Higher overall NEET percentile
  5. Preference based on Domicile Eligibility (APST vs. Non-APST)

Unlike some states, age or nativity will not be used as tie-breakers unless mandated through future NMC/NTA guidelines. After resolving ties, the state will apply reservation-based ranking, according to categories applicable in Arunachal Pradesh, such as APST (Scheduled Tribes of Arunachal Pradesh), PwD, Ex-Servicemen, and General Non-APST applicants, along with seat-type prioritization (State Quota vs. Management/NRI). Separate merit lists may be generated for each eligible category, ensuring transparency in seat allocation during counselling.

3. Application / Eligibility / Administrative Changes

For the 2026 session, the Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG application system is expected to introduce enhanced verification mechanisms under APDHTE, including automated domicile validation, caste/community certificate authentication, and Aadhaar-linked identity checks through state government digital records. For Management and NRI-linked seats, documentation rules are likely to follow stricter standards, requiring mandatory relationship proof with the financial sponsor, notarised sponsorship declarations, and passport/visa documentation (where applicable).

The online document upload system may enforce specific formats and updated verification criteria for key documents such as:

  • Domicile Certificate / APST Status Certificate
  • Tribal/Caste/Community Certificate (if applicable)
  • Aadhaar-linked Residence Proof
  • Transfer Certificate (TC)
  • NEET UG Scorecard & Admit Card
  • Income Certificate (for applicable categories such as EWS or APST sub-groups)
  • PwD Certificate (only from authorized centres)

The seat matrix for Government and Private/Management seats in Arunachal Pradesh is also likely to be revised for 2026, depending on seat increases at the state medical college (TRIHMS) or addition of new allied campuses. Arunachal Pradesh is expected to adopt the latest UGMEB/NMC eligibility regulations, covering updated subject requirements, attempt guidelines (if introduced), and new document compliance norms for 2026 admissions.

4. Impact for Aspirants: What to Be Aware Of

Since Arunachal Pradesh admissions depend entirely on NEET UG 2026 scores, state quota eligibility and domicile/APST status will play a major role in securing government seats. With stricter online document verification, students must obtain their APST Certificate (if applicable), Domicile Certificate, Residence Proof, Community/Tribal Certificate, and other mandatory documents in advance to avoid admission delays or rejection during verification.

The faster and more MCC-aligned counselling schedule means candidates must stay alert to deadlines. Missing any round may automatically push aspirants to the next round, which can reduce chances for state-quota government seats. For Management and NRI-linked admissions, early preparation of passport/visa copies, sponsor relationship proof, notarised financial sponsorship, and OCI/NRI identification is essential due to stricter documentation norms.

If additional seats are introduced or existing seats are increased at TRIHMS or other state-approved institutions, merit-based opportunities may improve for APST candidates, General category students, and NRI/Management applicants alike. Aspirants should frequently monitor the official APDHTE website, as counselling schedules depend on NEET UG 2026 result announcements and MCC counselling timelines.

Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG – Books to Refer

Preparing for the Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG is fully based on the national NEET exam, as MBBS admissions to TRIHMS (Naharlagun) strictly depend on NEET scores. Therefore, choosing the right books is crucial for improving conceptual clarity, scoring high in the exam, and securing a seat under APST and Open Quota categories.

For NEET UG 2026 preparation, students from Arunachal Pradesh must rely on three essential categories of study resources:

  • NCERT Textbooks
  • Standard Reference Books
  • Chapter-wise MCQ Practice Books

NCERT should be the first and most important step of preparation. A large portion of NEET Biology, major Chemistry concepts, and many factual Physics questions come directly from NCERT text lines, diagrams, and definitions.

Once NCERT fundamentals are mastered, aspirants can move to recommended reference books to strengthen:

  • Numerical problem-solving (Physics)
  • Organic/Inorganic conceptual clarity (Chemistry)

The cutoff for Arunachal Pradesh changes every year based on state-level competition, total number of applicants, and availability of medical seats within the state. Types of Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG Cut-offs

  • Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG cut-offs are released in two main categories, based on state-level admission rules under the 85% State Quota.

1. Arunachal Pradesh Qualifying Cut-off

  • This is the minimum NEET score required to be declared qualified at the national level.
  • It is published by the NTA along with the NEET result.
  • Candidates from Arunachal Pradesh must meet the qualifying score to participate in state counselling conducted by APDHTE, provided they also fulfill indigenous/local category rules (APST) or are eligible under Non-APST open seats (limited).

2. Arunachal Pradesh Admission Cut-off

  • This is much higher than the basic qualifying cut-off and varies every year based on available seats and competition.
  • It is announced during state counselling rounds by the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (APDHTE).
  • The cutoff differs based on:
    • Category (APST / Non-APST / EWS / PwD / Ex-Servicemen)
    • Type of seat (Government Quota / Sponsored / NRI / Open Category)
    • Institution (primarily TRIHMS – Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences)
    • Round-wise seat availability and demand (Round-1, Round-2, Mop-Up, Spot Round)

Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG 2026 Cut-off for 85% State Quota Seats

  • The Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (APDHTE) releases separate cut-offs for state quota MBBS seats in Arunachal Pradesh during each counselling round. These cut-offs primarily apply to Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS, Naharlagun), as it is the main government medical college in the state.

  • Non-APST seats are limited and depend on vacancy after APST allotment.
  • Final cutoff values are published online on the APDHTE counselling portal only during seat allotment rounds.

Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG 2026 Cut-off for State Quota (85%)

The Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (APDHTE) releases the cut-off list for MBBS/BDS admissions under the 85% State Quota in Arunachal Pradesh. These cut-offs vary based on several state-specific factors such as:

  • Arunachal Pradesh Indigenous (APST) eligibility
  • Number of State Quota seats at TRIHMS (Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences)
  • Reservation categories such as APST / EWS / PwD / Ex-Servicemen
  • Very limited Open/Non-APST seat availability
  • Government quota vs Sponsored/NRI category availability

How Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG Cut-off Impacts Counselling

Candidates who meet or exceed the Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG qualifying and admission cut-off become eligible to:

  • Register for Arunachal Pradesh State Quota counselling (85% seats) conducted by APDHTE
  • Apply for Government MBBS seats at TRIHMS, Naharlagun
  • Claim seats under sponsored/management or special categories (if notified)
  • Participate in limited open category (Non-APST) seats, subject to availability after APST allotment

Higher NEET scores significantly increase chances of:

  • Securing a Government MBBS seat at TRIHMS (Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences)
  • Getting preferred seat allocation in early counselling rounds
  • Obtaining admission at lower fees under Government Quota
  • Claiming limited open/non-APST seats, which are highly competitive
  • Avoiding the need to seek MBBS admission outside the state under AIQ or private quota

Why NEET Cut-off Varies Every Year (Arunachal Pradesh)

The Arunachal Pradesh NEET cut-off changes every year because:

  • If the NEET exam is easier, students score higher Arunachal Pradesh cut-off increases
  • When more APST/Non-APST candidates qualify competition rises cut-off goes up
  • If new MBBS seats are added at TRIHMS or other state institutions cut-off may drop slightly
  • High demand for TRIHMS (due to low fees, government seat security, and state preference) pushes cut-off higher
  • Cut-off is influenced by a combination of the NEET difficulty level, candidate performance, reservation rules, and total seats available under the state quota

Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG 2026 Cut-off for MBBS Abroad

  • Students from Arunachal Pradesh who plan to pursue MBBS in foreign countries (such as Russia, China, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Philippines, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, etc.) must qualify NEET UG 2026 with at least the minimum qualifying cut-off.
  • Without meeting the NEET qualifying mark, students will not be eligible for MBBS admission abroad, and they cannot obtain the eligibility certificate from NMC/APDHTE required for foreign medical admissions.
  • Qualifying NEET is compulsory for all students, including those applying under APST or Non-APST categories, if they wish to study MBBS outside India.

Validity

  • The NEET UG 2026 score is expected to remain valid for 3 years for candidates from Arunachal Pradesh seeking admission to foreign medical universities.
  • This allows students to take admission in a foreign MBBS program within the next three academic years without retaking NEET, provided they have qualified NEET UG 2026.

Impact of These Changes (For Arunachal Pradesh NEET Aspirants)

  • Earlier clarity about exam and application timelines gives students from Arunachal Pradesh more time to plan for both NEET and the state counselling at TRIHMS, improving preparation and reducing last-minute confusion.
  • With the NCERT-based reduced syllabus continuing, students from both APST-majority state board schools and CBSE schools can focus more on NCERT chapters, rather than worrying about additional or extra topics.
  • Since the exam pattern remains unchanged, Arunachal Pradesh aspirants can continue using the same preparation materials, books, and mock tests used by 2024 and 2025 NEET candidates.
  • The early release of exam city information and admit cards benefits students who may travel to centres outside their district or in nearby states (Assam, Meghalaya), reducing travel stress and planning issues.
  • Counselling for Arunachal Pradesh through APDHTE is expected to follow a similar timeline, so students do not need to worry about delayed admission or overlap with academic schedules.
  • Stability in exam mode and question format reduces uncertainty and helps students focus on core preparation areas like NCERT theory, diagrams, formulas, and repeated PYQ practice.
  • Students from Arunachal Pradesh can depend heavily on previous NEET papers, as question trends, difficulty level, and topic weightage are expected to remain similar.
  • Coaching centres, schools, and online programs in Arunachal Pradesh can align their teaching strategies more accurately, ensuring consistent and targeted learning throughout the year.
  • Repeaters in Arunachal Pradesh benefit highly, because they can reuse older notes, revision strategies, question banks, and mock analyses without needing major changes.

Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG 2025 Counselling Update

The Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG 2025 counselling is being conducted by the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (APDHTE) for MBBS admissions under the Government State Quota at TRIHMS (Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences), Naharlagun.
Unlike other states, Arunachal Pradesh does not have Management or NRI Quota MBBS seats, as TRIHMS is a fully government-run institution.

The first round of counselling and seat allotments has already been completed, and candidates allotted seats were required to report to TRIHMS within the given dates to confirm admission with original documents and fee payment.

Since a few seats still remain vacant due to withdrawals, non-reporting, or eligibility issues, the counselling process has now moved to Round 2 and Round 3, giving opportunities to:

  • Students who did not receive a seat in Round 1
  • Students seeking better category/seat upgrade
  • Students who could not complete reporting earlier

If seats continue to remain vacant after these core rounds, APDHTE may conduct a Mop-Up or Stray Vacancy Round to fill remaining seats under the APST/Reserved categories or limited Open seats (if any).

Important Advice to Candidates
Students must regularly monitor:

  • Registration deadlines
  • Web options (choice filling)
  • Seat allotment announcements
  • Reporting and document verification timelines

Admission will be confirmed only after complete document verification and physical reporting to TRIHMS, and seat availability changes significantly with every round, affecting upgrade chances and final allotments.

Key Updates & Developments – Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG Counselling

Round 1 Seat Notification & Verification

  • APDHTE paused publication of the Round 1 seat allotment to re-verify essential eligibility documents submitted by candidates.
  • TRIHMS and APDHTE jointly checked:
    • APST Tribe Certificates
    • Permanent Residence Certificates (PRC)
    • PwD, Ex-Servicemen, Women quota documents
  • Final seat allotment was released only after document validation, ensuring reservation seats were allotted correctly, especially for APST candidates.

Extended Registration & Document Upload

  • The counselling registration window was extended to allow students to re-upload pending or incorrect documents, including
    • APST / PRC
    • EWS / PwD
    • Women / CAP (Ex-Servicemen)
  • Fee payment and document upload deadlines were extended along with registration.
  • Candidates with unclear or mismatched certificates were specifically asked to upload corrected documents within the extension period.

Round 2 Start & Seat Revisions

  • Round 2 began only after new seat updates, including:
    • Withdrawal/resignation-based vacancy reports
    • Category-wise vacancy reshuffling at TRIHMS
  • APDHTE extended choice filling/web options, allowing candidates to modify their preferences after the revised seat matrix release.
  • The updated seat matrix reflected category distribution, especially:
    • APST
    • APST-EWS
    • PwD
    • Women quota
    • Limited Open/Non-APST vacancies (if any)

Revised Round 2 Timeline (Typical Pattern)

  • Registration / Fee payment opens (for newly eligible candidates)
  • Web Options / Choice filling extension
  • Choice Locking deadline (strict cut-off timing)
  • Seat Allotment Result Publication
  • Physical Reporting & Document Verification at TRIHMS

Dates vary each year, but follow this same sequence.

Round 3 & Mop-Up Round Adjustments

  • The Round 3 schedule was revised after TRIHMS submitted updated vacancy reports following Round 2 admissions.
  • TRIHMS was instructed to submit real-time vacancy data before Mop-Up allotment.
  • A Stray Vacancy Round may be conducted only if seats remain after Round 3, primarily filling:
    • APST seats
    • Limited Open/General seats (if still vacant)

Special Category Verification

  • PwD applicants underwent strict verification as per NMC medical board guidelines.
  • Ex-Servicemen (CAP), Women quota candidates were required to upload valid, updated certificates.
  • Temporary relaxation was given to candidates who submitted documents before the deadline but required validation, pending final verification during reporting at TRIHMS.

What This Means for Arunachal Pradesh NEET UG Candidates

  • Check the APDHTE counselling portal regularly, as deadlines for registration, document re-upload, and seat allotment updates can change between rounds, especially during verification and late vacancy updates.
  • Review and update your choices whenever new vacancy lists are released, since withdrawals and revised seat lists at TRIHMS may open additional seats in specific reservation categories (APST, Women, EWS, PwD, etc.).
  • Keep all essential documents ready and up-to-date, including NEET scorecard, Aadhaar, APST certificate, Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC), EWS certificate (if applicable), and special quota certificates (PwD / Ex-Servicemen / Women quota).
  • If you received a seat but want an upgrade, follow the official resignation or upgrade rules carefully, as delays or missed deadlines may result in your seat being cancelled and your admission opportunity lost.
  • Participate in every round — Round 2, Round 3, Mop-Up, and Stray Vacancy, because new vacancies can open due to withdrawals, non-reporting, or category reshuffling, increasing your chances of getting a seat even if you missed earlier rounds.

Final Word

  • The Andhra Pradesh NEET UG counselling process has also shown a dynamic and evolving pattern, with frequent updates in seat availability, revised timelines for registration and web options, and continuous document scrutiny to ensure accurate verification. For students, this creates a scenario filled with both opportunity and responsibility — added seats, revised matrices, and extended web-option windows increase access to medical colleges, but the shifting schedules demand consistent vigilance.
  • To secure the best outcome, candidates must stay alert, follow every official notification from YSRUHS, and adjust their choice filling based on new vacancy updates and future seat additions. A proactive and flexible strategy — along with timely document submission and careful option selection — can significantly improve your chances of obtaining a favourable seat in the upcoming rounds of Andhra Pradesh NEET UG counselling.
