At BMS COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE, we aim to provide an enriched academic environment. We are one of the oldest and recognised institutes of Architecture, imparting quality architectural education in the region, for the last 39 years.

The institution offers national and international platform for students to perform and excel. The institution instills essential values to pursue and fulfil the aspirations of the society in creating better place to live and flourish.

We offer Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Master's degree in Habitat Design and Doctoral Programme. Our students have been participating and winning many awards in national and International design competitions, conferences, seminars, workshops, technical paper presentations, co-curricular as well as extra-curricular activities bringing laurels to the institution.

The course structure B.ARCH, M.ARCH (Habitat Design) and Doctoral Program in Architecture emphasize on the fact that students and research scholars are expected to be committed, responsible towards course objectives and work independently as well as in identified formal groups. For both, design studios and theory courses, continuous evaluation of the students' works is followed to ensure quality in the outcome.

According to the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2023, BMS College of Architecture has been ranked 21st among the top architecture institutes in India. The institute was at rank 18 in 2022 as given by NIRF ranking 2022.

Eligibility Criteria:
According to the regulation of the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standard of Architectural Education, Regulations 2020):

No Candidates shall be admitted to the architecture course unless he/she passed an examination at the end of the 10 + 2 scheme (i.e., 12th Std or II-PUC) of the examination, with a minimum eligibility score of at least 50 %. Aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics also at least passed with a minimum score of 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination or passed the 10+3 Diploma examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject with at least 50 % Marks in the aggregate.
Also, in either of the above cases, the candidate must have appeared and qualified in the aptitude test in architecture conducted either by NTA (i.e., JEE) or “NATA” conducted by the Council of Architecture.
III. Candidate must satisfy the eligibility criteria I & II to be eligible for admission to the 1st year of the 5-year bachelor’s degree in architecture Program for the academic session.

BMSCA Placements
During placements in 2022, the average package offered to B. Arch and M. Arch students was INR 3.5 LPA and INR 5 LPA, respectively. The college has a separate placement cell to take care of the placement responsibilities.

SCHOLARSHIP GIVEN BY BMS EDUCATION TRUST:

1,50,000/- per year are eligible to apply. B S Narayan Memorial Scholarship Passed out students who have secured good percentage in all the semesters with parental income of up-to Rs. 4,50,000/- per year are eligible to apply.

BMSCA Library and Information Centre has a good collection of Books, Journals, Magazines, Thesis, Project Reports, CDs, E-resources, Govt. Documents (Bangalore Master Plan Documents, Handbooks, etc.). It has been designed to meet the information needs of the B.Arch, M.Arch, Research Scholars, Faculty, and Staff members of BMSCA. It also has an exclusive digital reference section.

The library subscribed JSTOR, Bloomsbury Architecture Library, Knowledge Hub (K-Hub), Charles Correa Archive, and under VTU Consortium-Taylor and Francis, ProQuest, Springer, Elsevier, Emerald, NetAnalytiks, Mint Books Databases. Library functions between 8 AM – 8 PM on all working days to facilitate students' benefit from the library facility.

The entire collection has been bar-coded and fully automated by using the RFID and Integrated with Koha Library Management Software. The Library offers many services to our patrons like online book renewal and reservation system, Online Public Access Catalogue, Online Purchase Suggestion, Database Orientation, Patron Management, Book Bank Facility, Special encouragement for top 3 students, News Paper Clipping, and Selective Dissemination of Information, etc.

Also installed IR software using DSPACE, IR is the Digital Repository that showcases the research publications of Faculty Members, Students, and Staff of BMS College of Architecture. Preprints, Reprints of Research Papers, Conference Papers, Technical Reports, Books, Chapter/s in Books, Popular Articles, Theses and Dissertations, Student's Project Reports, Lecture Notes, Audio-Video Materials, and other intellectual output of the Faculty Members are kept. Architectural and Design Portfolios, Product Designs, Models, Paintings, Art, and Artifacts in digital format are also kept. E-Books and previous year's examination question papers can be accessed and downloaded for individual study and research. BMSCA Library centrally well-protected Fire alarms and CCTV surveillance.

Studio Details

Studios are equip with state of art projection facitlity, drawing & model making facility along with adequate storage area for students, studios also have extensive display facility.
