Basavashree College of law is one of the constituents of Karnataka State Law University setup by Basavashree Educational Trust with the permission of Government of Karnataka and Bar Council of India to promote professional education and to promote and organize social activities for building up cultural social and educational character of young generation.

The trust was established in the year 2004 and started its first venture Basavashree College of law opening for 3 years LL.B Course with capacity of 79 Admission in the first year. Today in these college there are 400 students pursuing the law course for the academic year 2010-2011. The Basavashree college of law is commencing 5 years LL. B, BBA Law Course for attracting the commerce graduate with the intent to spread legal education as necessity to all sectors and sections of the society.

Admission
Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Legislative Law (BBA LLB) Eligibility Criteria

Seeking admission into a 5-year law course only the 10th and 12th qualification suffices with the 10th being the basic qualification for seeking admission into the 5-year law course.
The qualifications of the 10th and 12th may be obtained through any mode (distance/correspondence / open schooling method).
And the Pass percentage is 45% for the general category, 42% for the OBC category, and 40% for SC/ST category.

Master of Laws (LLM) Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have a three-year LLB degree or a three-year integrated LLB degree if equivalent LLB degree from a recognized University
Candidates must have obtained at least 55% marks in aggregate of the qualifying degree examination
For candidates of the SC/ST category, a relaxation of 5% marks is provided i.e. they need to have 50% marks in the qualifying LLB degree exam

Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Legislative Law (BA LLB) Eligibility Criteria

Master of Business Administration (MBA) Eligibility Criteria
Passed Bachelor Degree of minimum 3 Year duration. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination.

The institute is well equipped with excellent infrastructure to support all the stages of the placement process viz., pre-placement talk, written test, group discussion, and personal interviews. It provides unbiased information, advice, and guidance to first help students understand themselves and the employment market and then plan and prepare for their future by developing suitable career-related skills and knowledge. It aims to help students find a career that uses their unique skills and individual experience to the fullest.

Every year Basavashree College of Law (BCL), Kolar in association with HR consulting firms from Bangalore organizes MEGA PLACEMENT WEEK. Every year more than 15 companies participate in the recruitment process.

Moot Court Competitions and Legel Aid programs:
The Institution will regularly conduct Moot Court Competition in the State Level and will sponser Students to participate in the State, National and International Level Moot Court, Mock Trail and Mock Parliament Competition. Legel Aid Clinics, Court Visits, Meeting with Senior Advocates, Visit to Prison, Remand Homes and Police Station will be organised by the college.

Sports
The Institution facilitates indoor and outdoor games available in the college campus. Annual inter class sports competition and athletic meets will be conducted and winners will be awarded prizes.

Cultural Activities:
The Institution encourages talented students to develop and display there skills in various extra curricular activities. The institution will organise various events which covers a broad spectrum of fine arts ranging from Bhagavthgeetha and folk songs to debate extempore.

Library:
The College has very good Library and specious Building to cater to the needs of the students. The library will be updated from time to time with latest books and periodicals to meet the needs of both students and as well as teaching staffs. Law reports such as AIR, SCC, CR, L.J., I.L.R. (KAR), I.L.I. publications etc., will be added to library every year.
