Baselios Mathews II College of Engineering (BMCE) is named after its founder, the late H H Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Mathews II, the sixth Catholicons of the East and the Malankara Metropolitan of Malankara Orthodox Church. He was also the first Chairman of the institution. This renowned college is managed by Dr. C T Eapen Trust under Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. The institution started functioning in 2002 with the monumental objective of promoting academic excellence and competence in students, especially in the fast-growing global domain of Engineering and Technology. Located in the picturesquely beautiful Muthupilakadu in Sasthamcotta in the Kollam district of Kerala, the college stands out for its magnificent buildings and ultra-modern Infrastructure; a fascinating blend of architectural excellence and functional values. Affiliated to the University of Kerala and later to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, this self-financed institute currently provides 6 AICTE-approved UG courses.

The Library houses a store of various books from the best authors in the world from the electronics sector. We also encourage students to use the digital library archives and supplement themselves with repositories and services of NPTEL and other similar allied services.

The Library houses a store of more than 23000 books, more than 300 International and National Journals from the best authors published in popular Journals covering various branches of Engineering & Technology, Management and Humanities. A New completely wooden furnished library is equipped with International and National Journals Section, Reference Section, Books section, Digital Library, e- Library, Online Journals reference section, Reading Room, Document Scanning Facility, Document Printing Facility, Automated book lending system, Reprographic facility, Dailies and weeklies section and with an amazing collection of nearly 23,000 books. An exclusive books section of Microsoft, Wiley and WP contains four copies of all the titles published till date by them.

Canteen

Canteen facility is available in the campus for the students and staff members. It provides best quality foods at pocket-friendly prices. Canteens are one of the important parts of student life where you can find most of students chatting and gossiping on different topics. It plays a vital role in removing tensions and refreshing students. It provides all types of nutritious and hygienic eatables and beverages to cater to the students, staff and visitors.

Hostels

The college provides accommodation services for both boys and girls alike for strength of 100 each. The boys' hostel is within the campus while the girls' hostel is just a stone's throw away from the campus. Facilities like Information counter and photocopying services are provided.

A full fledged Transport Department is functioning in the college with 10 buses to provide transport facility to students and staff from various places to the college and back. The Transport department has well trained drivers ensuring hassle-free and safe transportation. Students will be monitored by a Bus Monitoring Officer in each bus to maintain discipline in the bus. The starting points are Kollam, Chavara, Anchalumoodu, Chathanoor, Ayoor, Mavelikara, Adoor, Kottarakara, and Puthoor. The bus network covers all corners and important junctions. Student can make use of the transport so that they can reach the college in time, safely and comfortably In addition to the College buses KSRTC is running bus from Adoor to BMCE.
