Bhavan's College, Mumbai was established in the year 1946 by Kulapati Dr. K.M.Munshiji. The campus spreads over 45 acres of land. The college is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Bhavan's College offers undergraduate (BA, B.Sc., B.Com.), postgraduate (M.Sc.) and doctoral (Ph.D.) courses in various areas. The college is affiliated to the University of Mumbai.

Bhavan's College, Mumbai offers admission to the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses. Admission to the undergraduate and postgraduate courses will be done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination while for doctoral courses, aspirants have to appear for a PET entrance test. For Undergraduate Courses:

Candidates should qualify 10+2 examinations from the recognised board.
Aspirants should fill an online application form on the website of the Bhavan's College.
Admission will be done on the basis of the marks scored in the qualifying examination.
Final admission will be offered after seat allotment, document verification and fee payment.

For Postgraduate Courses:

Candidates should qualify a bachelor's examination from the recognised institute.
Aspirants should fill an online application form on the website of the Bhavan's College.
A merit list will be prepared by the University of Mumbai on the basis of the qualifying examination.
Final admission will be offered after seat allotment, document verification and fee payment.

For Doctoral Courses:

Candidates have to fill an application form on the website of the college.
Aspirants have to appear for the biannual entrance examinations for Ph.D. Programmes (PET) conducted by the University.

Bhavan's College, Mumbai has a placement cell that conducts the placement drive for the students in collaboration with many companies. The cell invites the reputed companies for the recruitment drive. It not only enhances the technical and soft skills of the students but also helps them to prepare for the tests and interviews. The placement cell also organises various workshops and events that help in the overall personality development of the students. The college has adequate infrastructure for the placement drive such as the GD room, facilities to conduct the online examinations. The cell invites the companies then the interested companies will revert back to the mail. On the mutual agreement, the dates are finalised for the placement drive. The companies can also deliver a pre-placement talk to the students in order to make them aware of the companies rules and regulations, policies, etc. Then the students will be shortlisted on the basis of their resumes to appear for the aptitude and reasoning tests, technical rounds, group discussions followed by an interview. Bhavan’s College offers scholarships to eligible students. Academic, NCC excellence and sports excellence scholarships are awarded to students who succeed in academics and sports. Merit-cum-means scholarships are provided to economically weaker students. Various philanthropic groups, individuals, and BVC have contributed to these scholarships. National Merit Scholarship

A minimum of 85 percent in the SSC and HSC examination alone, with a maximum income of 6000 INR per annum, are awarded to the students.

State Government Open Merit

84 percent in the immediately preceding test for F.Y.J.C. Arts, Commerce, and Science are given to the students.

Gymkhana Scholarship

Bhavan’s College sports personalities will be honoured with amounts ranging from INR 500 to 2000.

Bhavan's College, Mumbai has adequate infrastructure for the students and staff such as a library with a rich collection of books, canteen to serve food and beverages to the students, amphitheatre to conduct events and activities. The college also provides indoor and outdoor sports facilities to the students, gymnasium to maintain the physical fitness, health centre to cater to the medical needs. Library
The College Library was established in 1946 to achieve the objectives of the College and to impart Bharatiya Vidya. The Library is an integral part of the teaching program and curriculum playing a central role in enhancing the quality of the academic and research environment in the College. Initially, it has a collection of around 10,000 books mostly in the field of Arts and at present, the Library possesses a very rich collection of Books, Periodicals, Audio-Visual materials, Bound Volumes, and up-course E-Resources to cater to the changing needs of staff and students fraternity. College Library has more than 55,000 books pertain to Arts, Commerce, Science, Management, and IT. The Library is subscribing to more than 80 periodicals including national and international journals from reputed publications. The library is holding around 1400 bound volumes.
Sports
The College has a huge playground and a volleyball court to provide opportunities to the students and staff who have inclinations towards various outdoor sports. An indoor sports facility is available. A basketball court is shared with Wadia School. The BMC owned sports complex in the vicinity provides opportunities for the conduct of sports events of the College, especially those related to swimming.
I.T Infrastructure
The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.
Cafeteria
The college has a canteen facility for staff and students. The College Canteen is housed in a separate bungalow, easily accessible from all the buildings. It has a seating capacity of about 150 and is always populated by the students during working hours. The canteen is popular with other institutes on the campus also. It has a separate cooking area, serving counters, and large places for students to eat, enjoy and create memories of their Campus life.
Auditorium
The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars. Available as a shared facility for the campus is an open-air auditorium, with a backdrop of the small lake called ‘The Pranganga’. An air-conditioned auditorium at SPJIMR, with a seating capacity of 304, is a place where many of the College functions like the orientation of newly admitted students, annual prize-distribution function, seminars, and workshops, cultural programs, and screening of movies for the film festival are organized.

The college has well-equipped Laboratories for Biotechnology, Biodiversity Wildlife Conservation, and Management, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information technology, Mathematics, Microbiology, Physics, Statistics, and Zoology.
