BLDEA (Bijapur Lingayat Education Association) is a leading education organization in the North Karnataka region. BLDEA was established on October 23, 1910, by Vachana Pitamaha Dr. P. G. Halakatti, a towering literary figure and a social reformer who dedicated his life for spreading the ideals of Shiva Sharanas.  It has a legacy of more than 100 years and 75 education institutions under its banner, which comprise professional institutes, colleges of humanities and social sciences, public schools and research institutes.

 
BLDEA's V.P. Dr P.G. Halakatti College of Engineering & Technology (Vachanana Pitamaha Dr. P. G. Halakatti College of Engineering), which is located in Vijayapura, was established in 1980 to address the need for quality technical education.  It is one of the few engineering colleges in the state that have successfully incorporated industry-oriented education in their engineering programs.  At BLDEACET, we are committed to empowering our students to become not just competent engineers but also well-rounded individuals equipped to tackle real-world challenges.

Its campus is spread over an area of 14.9 acres of verdant greenery. It has state-of-the-infrastructure, including technology-enabled teaching aids and equipment to provide a conducive environment for nurturing future engineers and scientists. BLDEACET is located on Ashram Road, Bijapur (Vijayapura), Karnataka.

 
The ISO 9001:2015 certified college is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and recognized by the Government of Karnataka. BLDEACET is approved by AICET, New Delhi. The departments of Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering are NBA accredited. The institute is NAAC grade B+ accredited.

 
The BLDEACET offers UG courses BE (in 7 disciplines) BArch. The P.G. Courses offered by the college are M. Tech Programs (in 6 Disciplines) as well as Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Application (MCA) Degree programs.  The Entrance Exams that are mandatory for admission into the college is as follows:

Admission Policy
Applications are invited from the eligible students who have passed PUC/10+2 equivalent examinations for admissions to various courses in BE, B.Arch, MBA, MCA & M.Tech for the Academic Year 2023-24 as per the details given hereunder:

(a) Interested candidates can obtain the application and submit the filled in application within 3 days from the date of application along with fees as prescribed here below. Such applications will be monitored by Institute admission coordinator.

(b) Interested candidates are required to contact Prof. Govind Madabhavi, Asst Prof, E&E, Institute Admission co-ordinator, with duly filled application along with the copies of marks cards with two passport size photographs for further procedure.

(c) The Students who have not attended CET, COMED-K Tests shall need to attend ‘BLDEACET ADMISSION ENTRANCE TEST’ for the allotment of Seat.

Eligibility Criteria
2.1 For Bachelor of Engineering (BE)
The candidates shall have passed the 2nd year Pre University or 12th standard or equivalent examination held preceding the entrance test with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects - Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology or Electronics.

The Candidate should have secured not less than 45% of aggregate marks in optional subjects and 40% of aggregate marks in optional subjects for SC/ST candidates with English as one of the languages for admissions to engineering. (PCM/PMB/PME/PMCS/PMBT). For B.Arch The Candidate should have secured not less than 50 marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics

2.2 For MBA/MCA
A candidate who has passed Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects including languages in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MBA courses. (45% of marks in Qualifying Examination in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates) (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates).

2.3 For M.Tech
A candidate who has passed Recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering of minimum of 4 years duration examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects including languages in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to M.Tech courses. (45% of marks in Qualifying Examination in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates) (Reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates).

Note: Candidates are advised to keep sufficient copies of the certificates duly attested, since their originals will be returned only after the approval of admission from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi.

Placement Training
The placement cell actively carries out an essential activity of providing placement training to bridge the gap between industry and academia. The training module developed by the placement cell consists of three phases.

In Phase 1, which takes place in the second year, students receive training in life skills, communication skills, and other essential areas.
In Phase 2, conducted in the third year, focuses on aptitude training, reading skills, and other relevant aspects.
In Phase 3, held in the fourth year, students receive technical training, guidance for group discussions, personal interview skills, and more.
In addition to the training module, students are exposed to the IT industry through the Infosys Campus Connect program. Industry experts deliver talks on their expertise and motivate the students.

Scholarship 1
Vidyasiri Scholarship (Karnataka ePASS) is a Scholarship Welfare Scheme launched by the Karnataka State to help the students from backward classes and low-income families. The Vidyasiri Scholarships meant for students who come from SC/ ST/ EBC/ OBC background and disabled students who wish to pursue higher studies after Matriculation.

State Govt. will provide scholarship to SC/ST candidates based on family annual income.

Boys Hostel
BLDEACET Bijapur offers separate hostels for boys. Whilst internet access and the best lab facilities ensure close contact with family and friends outside, the fully equipped common rooms allow for that relaxed time with friends on Campus.

Girls Hostel
The separate facilities for girls, caring wardens and a tight security ensure a pleasant stay allowing the students to focus on academics. Whilst internet access and best lab facilities ensure close contact with family and friends outside, the fully equipped common rooms allow for that relaxed time with friends on Campus.

Gym
The campus is equipped with an in-house gymnasium. It contains world-class equipment s like treadmills and strength machines for exercise and works out. In short, the gym provides an ideal atmosphere for the students to provide overall & sound development.

Library
The Central Library functions as the primary information resource centre and repository of all printed and e-resources for teaching and research activities at the institute. The library facilitates access to a number of journals through its participation in consortia, such as VTU Library Consortia. The library also subscribes to several e-journals directly from publishers as well as through reputed subscription agencies. At present, users can consult more than 87000 books (available on shelves), over 22550 titles and more than 16000 thousands of electronic books and journals.

At BLDEACET, we prioritize the convenience and easy commute of our students and staff members. To ensure a seamless transportation experience, we operate our own fleet of buses that cater specifically to students' needs in our hostels.
