Chennai Institute of Technology (also known as CIT) is one of the most renowned institutions in its line in Chennai. It was established with the committed objective of providing quality technical education with relevant industry exposure.

CIT was established in the year 2010. It forms part of the Parthasarathy Seeniammal Educational Trust. CIT was formed under the young and dynamic leadership of Mr P Sriram, a first generation entrepreneur. Mr A Ramesh is the Principal of the College.

CIT is located at Sarathy Nagar, Kundrathur, Chennai and is 17 Kms from Chennai International Airport and 35 Kms from Chennai Central Railway Station. It has easy access by Rail and Road connectivity.

CIT is approved by the AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.The Autonomous status has its approval from Anna University as well as the University Grants Commission (UGC) New Delhi. Anna University has also recognized it as a Research Centre.

CIT has NBA Accreditation as well as NAAC Accreditation with A+ Grade.
CIT offers admission in B.E/B.Tech/M.E and Lateral Entry

The B.E./B.Tech program consists of 8 semesters (4 years) in duration. Evaluations, both internal and external, are carried out according to the norms of Anna University.

The B.E./B.Tech Programs are the flagship programs at CIT Chennai. Admission to these Programs is strictly by merit. There are currently Fourteen B.E./B.Tech programs offered at CIT Chennai.

Cut-off Marks vary between 40% to 50% for Lateral Entry depending on Category.

Students from foreign countries with foreign passports are eligible to apply under the Foreign Nationals category. Students must have completed their Class XII or equivalent (completed 12 years of school education) from a recognised Board/University with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as their main subjects. In case of boards other than CBSE, the students have to submit an equivalence certificate certifying the equivalence to the CBSE board

Admission Procedure

Prospective students must register online through the official CIT website or the respective counseling portals (TNEA for UG and TANCA for PG). Admission Process

Admissions are conducted through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling process. Candidates must have completed their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, securing a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. The selection is based on the marks obtained in these subjects, and no separate entrance exam is required.

Eligibility

• A Pass in the HSC(Academic: both +1 and +2)or its equivalent with a minimum average percentage as given below.
• A pass in any one of the HSC(Vocational Subject: both +1 and +2)as given below with any one of the Engineering related subjects namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry with minimum average percentage.

M.E - 2 Year Course

Admission Process

For M.E. admissions, candidates should possess a B.E./B.Tech degree in a relevant discipline with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories). Admissions are based on the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) scores, followed by the Tamil Nadu Common Admission (TANCA) counseling process.

• Admissions are conducted through TANCA (Tamil Nadu Common Admissions) counseling, based on the entrance exam scores.
• Candidates must qualify in either the TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) or GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) examinations

A team of experienced drivers drive our buses complying all safety norms and traffic rules.
