The College of Engineering, Adoor, was set up in October 1995 by the Institute of Human Resource Development (IHRD), a Government of Kerala undertaking. Admissions are carried out on the basis of the ranks obtained in the All Kerala Common Entrance Examinations, conducted by the Controller of Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala. CEA is a center of academic excellence that provides undergraduate studies to about 1000 students in four disciplines. It imparts technical education and training in the fields of Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The college is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) known internationally for its academic excellence. CEA is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi.

Merit Seat
Academic Eligibility: 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, the marks obtained in Computer Science shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science, the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, Computer Science and Biotechnology, the marks obtained in Biology shall be considered. The marks as shown in the mark list of the Board of Examination obtained from the respective Higher Secondary Board shall be considered for academic eligibility. Candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes will have a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying examination. They need only 45% marks in the case of Mathematics/Biology and 45% marks in the case of Mathematics/Biology, Physics and Chemistry put together. The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates need only a pass in the qualifying examination.

Management Seat
Academic Eligibility: 45% marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission.

NRI Seat
Academic Eligibility: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination and eligible for admission to engineering as per the prospectus of KEAM can apply during the months of April-May directly through the IHRD Website. These candidates need not clear the entrance examination, admission will be purely based on marks obtained by the candidate for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
The candidates seeking admission to B. Tech NRI seats should be a child/ ward/ dependent of an NRI and should enclose a declaration from the NRI {form enclosed as VIII(7)} along with the application

Career Guidance & Placement Unit

The Career Guidance and Placement Unit (CGPU) of College of Engineering, Adoor is always aiming and working towards providing the best training and exposure to the students so that they are well prepared for their forthcoming future.

Today’s recruiters seek recruits who have tremendous technical prowess in equal measure with interpersonal skills. The CGPU aims very much to prepare the students to the likeness and requirements of the recruiters.

The CGPU was started in 1995 in this college as a voluntary organization. The Principal heads this unit, assisted by the Placement Officer and the student representatives from all the branches. Support from everyone, from the principal to the faculty to the students to the parents, have been extended wholeheartedly for the functioning of this unit.

LIBRARY RULES

1 Library will be kept open for the students and staff from 9 am. To 5pm. on all working days

2 Identity card and proper uniform are compulsory for getting access to the library.

3 Library clients must record check in and checkout in the computer placed at the entrance of the library.
