College of Engineering, Kidangoor (CEK), Kottayam is one among the premier institutions in the state. The college is governed by the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education established by the Government of Kerala. The admissions are based on the rank obtained by the students in the State Entrance examinations and functioning of the college is according to the rules and regulations formulated by the Government of Kerala. Now the institution is glistening with outstanding records in both academic and extracurricular fields backed by excellent faculty and full-fledged facilities.

Admissrons

The institution offers Bachelor Degree Programs [4 year duration] under the affiliation of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. The Merit quota [90%], Management quota [5%] [reserved for the children of employees working under Co-operative sector] are solely allotted by the Commissioner of Entrance Exams, Kerala as per KEAM Rank. The admission to NRI [5%] quota seats are filled from the rank list, prepared by the college authority, based on the plus two marks [Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or / Computer Science/Biotechnology/Biology].

Library

The college has a full-fledged automated library with an incredible collection of more than 25000 books, 60 journals / magazines and EBSCO E-journal consortium. We have a collection of 2920 Electronic books from Springer Publisher's Engineering and Technology Package. The Central Library is fully automated using KOHA Integrated Library System. KOHA ILS @ CEK Library provides OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) and the same is available throughout our campus wide LAN. We also started the project “Dspace @ CEK to digitize the in house seminar / project reports produced and submitted by our students. Our library circulation module is working through bar-code based transactions.

Hostal

A number of hostels for both boys and girls, with good quality food and amenities are available near the College. The facilities available for boys and girls at present are adequate. Private owners manage these hostels and the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) of the College closely monitors their functioning. For the information and guidance of the students, the hostels have been graded on a five-point scale and published. The new entrants to the College and their parents can draw information from this and choose a hostel of their liking. Permanent Hostel buildings of the College initially for girls and later for boys will be established at the permanent site, only after the completion of the construction of various blocks.

College provides hostel facility for 280 students in hostels located within 800 meters from the campus. Separate hostel facilities are available for boys and girls. Boys hostel can accommodate 135 students and girls hostel can accommodate 145 students. Tidy rooms and hygienic facilities make for an ideal stay away from home ambience. The mess facilities in the hostels are designed to meet hygiene standards. All these hostels are fully under the control of college PTA. College Ladies Hostel with an intake capacity of 100 students is under construction and expected to be completed by Dec 2019.

Transport

The college has a regular bus service plying to and from Pala, Ettumanoor,Changanachery, Thalayolaparambu, Karukachal, Erattupetta and Kottayam town to the college premises, for the purpose of conveying students and staff conveniently. The college campus is 1.5 km away from Manthady Jn. The P.T.A College of Engineering, Kidangoor operates college buses for the use of staff and students. Three buses are also used to commute students from Manthady Jn to Campus. The students of this college and their parents have great appreciation for the bus service.
