College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (COVAS) in Parbhani, Maharashtra, was established on May 18, 1972, as a constituent college of the Marathwada Agricultural University (now Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth). It was founded to address the educational and veterinary needs of the Marathwada region. Initially, the college operated from temporary structures, but over time, it developed into a comprehensive institution offering both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in veterinary sciences.
In 2000, following the establishment of the Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU), COVAS Parbhani became one of its constituent colleges. The college offers a five-year Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) program with an annual intake of 64 students. Additionally, it provides postgraduate education, including M.V.Sc. degrees in 19 disciplines and Ph.D. programs in two disciplines.
