The College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Mhow was established as “College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry cum Livestock Research Institute” on 12th July 1955 in the lap of Malwa region. It is a constituent college of Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University, Jabalpur (NDVSU), an Autonomous Veterinary University in India, and is a pioneer institute in the field of Veterinary Sciences in India. It is one of the oldest veterinary colleges in Madhya Pradesh, the present premises of which was inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on 12 November 1959.
It has a unique history of excellence and development since inception. The college started under Agra University as a satellite branch of Mathura Veterinary College (U.P.). The first batch of students were, however, awarded the degree of B.V.Sc. & A.H. by Vikram University, Ujjain after which it was shifted to JNKVV, Jabalpur from 1964, then RVSKVV, Gwalior from 2008 and finally affiliated to present University NDVSU, Jabalpur under the act 16 of M.P.Vidhan Sabha in 2009.
The college Campus is set in an Urban area spread over 257 acres of land in P.o. Rasalpura, Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, Central India. The campus is situated approximately 5 Kms from Mhow cantonment and is 18 km from the Indore railway station on Mumbai Agra National highway No. 3.
