The College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Mhow was established as “College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry cum Livestock Research Institute” on 12th July 1955 in the lap of Malwa region. It is a constituent college of Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University, Jabalpur (NDVSU), an Autonomous Veterinary University in India, and is a pioneer institute in the field of Veterinary Sciences in India. It is one of the oldest veterinary colleges in Madhya Pradesh, the present premises of which was inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on 12 November 1959.
It has a unique history of excellence and development since inception. The college started under Agra University as a satellite branch of Mathura Veterinary College (U.P.). The first batch of students were, however, awarded the degree of B.V.Sc. & A.H. by Vikram University, Ujjain after which it was shifted to JNKVV, Jabalpur from 1964, then RVSKVV, Gwalior from 2008 and finally affiliated to present University NDVSU, Jabalpur under the act 16 of M.P.Vidhan Sabha in 2009.
The college Campus is set in an Urban area spread over 257 acres of land in P.o. Rasalpura, Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, Central India. The campus is situated approximately 5 Kms from Mhow cantonment and is 18 km from the Indore railway station on Mumbai Agra National highway No. 3.

College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Mhow offers 1 UG and 1 PG course in Full Time mode. The college is a reputed institute for BVSc&AH and MVSC programs. The accepted entrance exam for admission into the college is MPBSE / 12th for UG and Completion of BVSc for PG. The college also offers Doctoral program PhD in the field of Veterinary Sciences.

MINIMUM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR B.V.SC. & A.H. DEGREE COURSE
A candidate shall be admitted to the B.V.Sc. & A.H. Degree course provided: He/she has completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of year of his/her admission to the B.V.Sc. & A.H. course and minimum admission requirements as laid down by the Academic Council of this University from time to time.
The selection of students to the B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course shall be done on the merit of the candidate(s) as determined on the basis of entrance examination conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board, Bhopal or by the Veterinary Council of India.
Admissions of fresh entrants/students
New entrants must report in person along with parents/guardians to the Dean of the College to which they have been selected for admission on the date of admission prescribed by the University for the purpose of registration. The admission of new entrants, who fail to report for registration on the prescribed date, shall stand cancelled. The admission to course shall consist of the following steps:
Payment of full fee at the college on the day of counseling or procedure as prescribed by University from time to time.
Registration in the course at the college will be allowed in person. No registration in absentia shall be permitted.
The new entrants selected/nominated for admission to a course of B.V.Sc. & A.H. Degree of the University shall become enrolled students of the University only on completion of all the formalities prescribed by the University from time to time.
An identity card shall be issued to each enrolled student on payments of Rs.100/- which should be carried by them at all time and be shown whenever required. The student should always quote the I.D. Number while making 4 correspondence
Library
The college provides library facilities to its students, teachers & research scholars supporting teaching research. The library is well stocked with books, Journals, standards, reviews, maps, globes, advances & CD-ROMs in the fields of Veterinary Sciences, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and allied subjects. The library has an acquisition section, circulation section, serial section and reference section. The services provided by the library include lending services, online public access, book bank schemes and photocopying services.
Sports
The college provides a playground and sports facilities like badminton, table tennis, chess, and carrom for boys and girls students. The students at NDVSU Jabalpur are also encouraged to participate in various sports events and tournaments.
I.T Infrastructure
The university provides good IT infrastructure facilities with high-speed internet and an adequate number of computers and staff members.
Laboratories
NDVSU Jabalpur has well-equipped laboratories for all the departments to provide research facilities for students. The laboratories have a number of advanced types of equipment.
Boys Hostel
The University provides good accommodation facilities for boys with all the required amenities. The students are required to pay the hostel fees and the electricity bills. The hostels are provided with basic furniture and mess facilities.
Girls Hostel
The college provides well-furnished hostel facilities for girls on the campus. The hostels have single and double-seated rooms for the students. The hostels have a mess facility, table, chair, cot and ceiling fan. The electricity bill is charged separately from the students along with the hostel fees.
Gym
The university provides gym facilities for the physical fitness of its students and staff members.

NDVSU Jabalpur has a cafeteria that serves fresh and healthy food to students and staff members at affordable prices.
