Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore, commonly known as DSCE Bangalore, is an autonomous college which was established in the year 1979 by Late Sri R Dayananda Sagar and operates under the aegis of the Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Peetha Trust.

 
Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering campus is spread over a sprawling 23 acres of land in Shavige Malleshwara Hills, Kumaraswamy Layout, Bengaluru, Karnataka. It is easily accessible by any mode of transport.   DSCE Bangalore college is 140 m away from Dayananda Sagar College Bus Stop, 1.5 km from Banashankari Metro Station.   which is 1.5 km away. The nearest railway station to the DSCE Bangalore campus is KSR Bengaluru City Junction and Yeshwanthpur Junction Railway Station are 9.5 km and 21 km away respectively.  Kempegowda International Airport is 49 km away from the DSCE Bangalore premises.

 
DSCE Bangalore is an autonomous Institute which is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi.  The College is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. DSCE Bangalore is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Govt. of India. This ISO 9001-2015 Certified Institute is accredited by NBA and NAAC with 'A' Grade.  It is positioned in the band 50-100 in the Innovation Category under the NIRF Ranking 2023. 

DSCE offers the widest choice of engineering branches with 20 Under Graduate and 6 Post Graduate courses. In addition, it has 20 Research Centres in different branches of Engineering, catering to Research Scholars for obtaining Ph.D under VTU. The Various courses are accredited by NBA. The college offers B.E undergraduate programs in 20 disciplines, M.Tech in 4 Disciplines, MBA and MCA postgraduate programs. M.Sc Engg/Ph.D - For Ph.D. The criteria for admission is through synopsis selection, ULRAT Test and an interview conducted by VTU for Affiliated Research Centers.

B.E Programs
For UG, The admission to college is through the entrance test / Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Karnataka Government & Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka / COMEDK. The students with meritorious ranking are considered for admissions.
A pass in PUC/12th/10+2 or equivalent examination in the first attempt with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with English as one of the subject/language.
A pass in PUC/12th/10+2 or equivalent examination with 45 % marks aggregate in Physics, Mathematics & any one of the following subjects: Chemistry / Biology / Computer science / Electronics.
Candidates belongs to Karnataka SC, ST & other backward classes (Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B) the minimum marks for the eligibility will be 40% aggregate in the optional subjects.

M.Tech Programs
A pass in B E/ B.Tech or equivalent examination.
A written test is conducted by the university for candidates and rank list is obtained. On the basis of which, the candidate will appear for admission carried out through single window counseling process.
Candidates with valid GATE score will be given first preference for the seat selection in the counseling process, then university rank holders.

MBA Program
For admission to Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program, the candidates shall have passed the prescribed qualifying examinations with not less than 50% of the marks in aggregate of all the years / semesters of the degree examinations. PGCET Score is must for Government Quota Students.

However, in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and any other groups classified by the Government of Karnataka for such purpose from time to time, the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examinations shall be not less than 45%.

Master of Computer Application(MCA)
Admission to Master of Computer Application(MCA)Program, the candidates shall have passed the prescribed qualifying examinations with not less than 50% of the marks in aggregate of all the years / semesters of the degree examinations. PGCET Score is must for Government Quota Students. The revised MCA course is for Two years or Four Semesters. This will be functional from the current academic year.
However, in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and any other groups classified by the Government of Karnataka for such purpose from time to time, the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examinations shall be not less than 45%.

Getting Around & Campus Safety
Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering has built up a reputation of higher academic standards. All students shall be required to conduct themselves in a manner befitting the students of DSCE, a institution of high reputation, within and outside the precincts of the institution.

Discipline in Campus:
Students should follow the prescribed dress code by DSCE while in the campus and also have to wear ID card issued by the College.
Unsocial activities like ragging in any form shall not be permitted within or outside the precincts of the institution and the students found indulging in them shall be dealt with severely and dismissed from the institution.
The following additional acts of omission and /or commission by the students within or outside the precincts of the college shall constitute gross violation of code of conduct which is punishable.
Lack of courtesy and decorum, as well as indecent behaviour.
Wilful damage of property of the Institution/Hostel or fellow students.
Possession, consumption or distribution of alcoholic drinks or any kind of hallucinogenic drugs, smoking.
Mutilation or unauthorized possession of library material, like books.
Hacking in computer systems (such as entering into other persons’ area without prior permission, manipulation and/or damage of computer hardware and software or any other Cyber-crime etc.).
Use of Mobile in the college Academic area.
Unauthorized fund raising and promoting sales.
Any other considered by the college as of gross indiscipline.
In each case above, the punishment shall be based on the gravity of offence covering from reprimand, levy of fine, expulsion from Hostel, debar from examination, rustication for a period, to outright expulsions.

The reprimanding authority for an offence committed by students in the Hostels and in the Department or the class room shall be respectively, the Warden of the Hostels and the Head of concerned Department.
