Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU), formerly Marathwada University, is located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Republic of India. It is named after Bharat Ratna "Babasaheb" Ambedkar, an Indian jurist, political leader, academic and the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. This university was established primarily on the initiative of Babasaheb Ambedkar so as to fill the huge lacuna of higher education facilities in western Vidarbh, Marathwada and North maharashtra region.The university was established on August 23, 1958.

This university has contributed to the progress of adjoining regions and people in innumerable ways.Since its inception, the university has around 428 colleges affiliated to it, which come under four districts (Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed and Osmanabad) of Maharashtra State. The student population exceeds.

Admission Process:

§  In response to the advertisement for registration, (in newspapers and University Website in the month of May/ June), interested students will have to register themselves online.

§  Duly filled Application Form (available on University website) should be filled in the prescribed format and submit the hard copy to the department of Statistics office.

§  Admission will be done on the basis of performance of students at Common Entrance Test (CET) and their percentage of marks at graduate level.  The Entrance test will be conducted in the month of June or as per University schedule.

§  Selected candidates will have to go through MKCL registration process.

§  Procedure for Registration: Interested candidates are required to fill in the online registration form provided on http://bamua.digitaluniversity.ac and submit the print out of the filled in form along with the necessary attested documents & the prescribed fees receipt to the department

§  Original and/or Attested copies of following documents are essential at the time of admission of  M. Sc. Statistics course

1.      Photo ID proof as per Govt. of India norms (Voter Id /Aadhar card/ Driving License),

2.      SSC (High School) Board Certificate as proof of date of birth,

3.      Mark sheet of SSC and HSC,

4.      All semesters Grade/Mark sheets of qualifying examination(Degree),

5.      Degree / Provisional certificate (if any) if degree is completed,

6.      Transfer Certificate (Original) of Degree,

7.      Caste Certificate and Validity Certificate (if applicable),

8.      Income Certificate of parent(s),

9.      Domicile Certificate,

10.  Non Creamy Layer Certificate (for NT-2, NT-3 and OBC candidates).

§  Students who come under the jurisdiction of other University should submit Migration Certificate in original.

Training and Placement Cell
As a part of the efforts to develop and strengthen relationship with the corporate globe, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University has outlined a long-term strategy to place students in prestigious organizations. A well organized placement division continuously monitor the employment potential and arrange campus placement for the students. As a part of industry- institute interaction, students are exposed to the real work environment of various Industries. Hands-on training is imparted to students in the conventional as well as in advanced techniques. Its Motivate the students by providing the necessary help and guidance for their personality development.

The Training and Placement Cell publicizes information about employment opportunities and makes information available about higher education in India and other countries. Placement talks are arranged and facilities are provided for Campus interviews. A large number of students have been able to secure good jobs through the placement in some of the reputed multinational companies, Govt. agencies, etc.

BAMU Scholarships
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University offers scholarships and financial aid to their deserving students whenever required as per their terms and conditions. Some of the Scholarships are bulleted below:

Government of India Scholarship:

As per the central government rules for the reserved category, candidates under the reserved category can apply for scholarships for their Master's or Ph.D. courses at the university.

Post-Matric Scholarship:

This scholarship is offered to students belonging to Minority communities like Buddhism, Muslim, Sikhism, Parsi, and Christian studying in the university with any course.

University Merit Scholarship:

Students securing first and the second rank in the university exam in the different subjects are provided this university merit scholarship.

Eklavya Scholarship:

This Scholarship is offered to students securing 70% marks in science courses and 60% marks in arts courses at the undergraduate level.

Scholarship for Non-Hindi Language Speaker Students:

This is especially for those students who are from a Non-Hindi background and facing some financial issues.

BAMU Aurangabad Facilities

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Aurangabad provides certain facilities to the students, staff and faculty members of the University including healthcare, hostel, library etc. Detailed description of all the facilities provided to the students, staff and faculty members are mentioned below.

Library- The central library of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University was established in December, 1959. The foundation stone of the library was laid on 16th October, 1960, by former President of India Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. The library has a large collection of 3,26,450 books and periodicals. The library timings are 10.20 am to 6.00 p.m from Monday - Saturday except Public & National holidays. The reading hall of the library remains open from 7 am to 12 pm midnight.

Hostels- Girls and boys are allotted hostels separately. Hostels are allotted to students based on the availability of rooms. Students have to apply for hostel accommodation differently. All the hostels of BAMU University  are provided with basic facilities for comfortable stay of students. The hostels also have wardens to maintain the rules and regulations of hostels. Mess facilities are also available in hostels which serves quality and hygienic food to students.

Healthcare- Healthcare facilities are also provided to the students, staff and faculty members of BAMU University Aurangabad which was established on 30th May, 1998. The health centre is provided with all required equipment including X-ray, Nebulizer, Autoclave for sterilization, two consulting rooms, Dressing room Dispensary room, Registration room, X-ray room. Medical officers and nurses are there to provide medical treatments to the students, staff and faculty of the University. The health centre remains open from 8.00 am to 11.30 am in the morning and 3.00 pm to 6.30 pm in the evening to provide medical facilities.

Boys Hostel

The University has a boy’s hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

Girls Hostel

The University has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

Medical/Hospital

To keep students, resident employees and their families healthy, happy and joyful a health center has been constructing in the campus. Health center has started its functioning from 30 May 1998. The primary duties of the health centre has started its functioning provide immediate medical treatment to employees & students in the campus. Health Centre is well equipped with many advance medical equipment like, X-ray, Nebulizer, Autoclave for sterilization, two consulting room, Dressing room Dispensary room, Registration room, X-ray room.

The University has Gym facility for the students.

The University has a library facility for all students.

The Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Alumni Association aims at working for an all-time interaction & a feeling of fraternity among alumni of the University. The association also provides opportunities for interaction between past & present graduates and faculty of the University department. The alumni of our university have found and will keep on finding positions in institutions of National & International repute and the association being a platform for mutual awareness among all.
