Gowdara Mallikarjunappa Institute of Technology, popularly known as GM Institute of Technology, is Hi-Tech Engineering Institute in Davangere, the geological centre of Karnataka. This Private Un-Aided Institute was established in the Academic year 2001-02 by the Srishaila Educational Trust owned by the GM Family, Bheemasamudra.

 
GMIT campus is spread over 54 acres of lush green land with well planned monolithic buildings and state-of-the-art infrastructure.  It is located in the outskirts of Davangere city along the Poona - Bangalore Road, National Highway NH 4. SH 76, Karur Industrial Area, Davangare, Karnataka about  265 Km away from Bangalore city.

 
GM Institute of Technology is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgavi and approved by Government of Karnataka.  It is accredited by AICTE, New Delhi.  Institution also has ISO 9001:2015 certification from TUV Nord. GMIT has been accredited by NBA as well as NAAC.  The institution is also having 2(f) & 12(B) certificate for research purpose.  It has been participating every year in the AICTE – CII survey to establish the industry interaction and is receiving Gold rating every year.

 
GM Institute of Technology offers 17 courses across 2 streams namely Engineering and Management.  Popular degrees offered include B.E (in 6 disciplines), M.Tech (in 3 Disciplines), MBA and Diploma (in Civil Engg. and Mechanical Engg).  The Eligibility for admission to the Degree programs is based on KCET/ KPGCET/COMEDK UGET/GATE scores.

GMIT Davangere Diploma Admission Procedure
In order to gain admission into the diploma courses at GMIT Davangere diploma courses, candidates have to take part in the centralised counselling process conducted by DTE Karnataka for the surrendered seats. There is no entrance exam. Alternatively, candidates can also directly apply to the institute.

Take a print out and fill out the application form as per instructions.

Candidates are required to visit the designated document verification centres with application form and required documents.

Issue of acknowledgement number to the candidate.

GMIT Davangere UG Admission Procedure
The admissions into the UG engineering programmes at GMIT Davangere are done on the basis of KCET and COMED-K UGET. Candidates have to take part in the centralised counselling process conducted by KEA after appearing for the exam to obtain seat allotment.

Training & Placement
The T&P Dept plays a crucial role in providing job opportunities for Under Graduates and Post Graduates passing out from the college by keeping in touch with world class industries. The T&P Dept operates round the year to facilitate contacts between companies and graduates. The number of students placed through the campus interviews is continuously rising. On invitation, many reputed industries visit our institute to conduct interview process.
The T&P Dept organizes career guidance programmes for all the students starting from first year. Tarranges training for students on employability skills. And also responsible for making students industry ready.
All the Placement associated activities are handled by the Training and Placement Dept. (T&P Dept) of the institute. Boys Hostel

The college has a girls' hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students with 500 students. The College Library present has a collection of more than 41650 volumes, titles 18719 & 76 national/ int. journal/Magazine. The library also has an intensive Digital library consisting of around 1800 CDs/DVDs and other learning resources in electronic form like e-journals, audio/videos, e-books.


Sports
The College campus provides adequate facilities for the empowerment of sports activities of students to ensure their physical development. Sports are one arena in which moral and personal development occurs by both imitation and initiation. The campus has an indoor stadium providing fine infrastructure. The college has multi-furniture GYMNASIUM with modern equipment. Students attend the GYM to keep healthy. Cricket, Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Throwball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Hockey, and Athletics grounds are located in a mini-stadium on the campus.
