Government Thiruvannamalai Medical College
The Government Thiruvannamalai Medical College, established in the Year 2013, is operated by the Government of Tamil Nadu, India. Functioning as Taluk Hospital since 1950 in the erstwhile combined North Arcot District, upgraded to District Head quarters Hospital status in 1989, when Tiruvannamalai Samburavayar District was formed. From 2013 the Medical College was established to provide quality medical education to the economically weak, deserving and meritorious students.
The Government Thiruvannamalai Medical College and Hospital is spread over a sprawling campus of over 35 acres with a very good infrastructure. It is situated on Vellore Road, Vengikkal, Thiruvannamalai Outer Ring Road in Vengikkal New town at Thirinjapuram Union (Behind Collector Office), Thiruvannamalai District, Tamil Nadu.
The Medical College & Hospital is 4.8 km away from Tiruvannamalai Bus Stop through Avalurpettai Road and 6.1 km distance between Polur Road. It is 7.7 km away from the city Railway Station Via Outer Ring Road New Town.
Tiruvannamalai Medical College & Hospital is situated 180kms away from Chennai, 85 km distance from Katpadi Railway Station and 100 km distance from Puducherry.
The College is affiliated to The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai and Approved by The National Medical Council, (NMC), New Delhi.
GTVMMC offers only MBBS course for an annual intake of 100 seats in the stream of Medicine and Allied Sciences. The MBBS program spans 5.5 years with one year of compulsory rotating internship in the medical field. NEET-UG scores are considered for admission into this college.

The Attached 440-bed Tiruvannamalai Government District Headquarters Hospital is the teaching hospital. It has Operation Theatres including major and minor OT and well-equipped ICU's. It is a tertiary care hospital with 24X7 emergency and trauma care facility, Eye bank and blood bank facilities. There are very good clinical and diagnostic facilities in the Hospital along with facilities for Burn treatment, Critical care services, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy. The Hospital's general specialities include General Medicine, General Surgery, OBG, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Radiodiagnosis, ENT, Ophthalmology, Anaesthesiology, Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry & Forensic Medicine.
