The placement process of the college is given below

STEP 1

Sending invitations to the past and the potential recruiters: The Placement Cell invites the companies by e-mail and interested companies from different sectors to conduct campus placement and in return get back to the college for further process and confirm their presence to visit the campus for conducting the placement drive and hence the documentation process as required such as filling form etc. is completed.

STEP 2

Fixing a Schedule and slot allocation: The Placement Cell then fixes dates with various recruiters for conducting the placement drive and the slots are allocated to different recruiters depending on the availability on mutual agreement and the schedule is notified to the students. 

STEP 3 

Registration for participation in the recruitment drive: Candidates interested for participation in the placement drive at K J Somaiya College have to register and they have to submit their updated resumes along with all the necessary documents for the further placement process.

STEP 4

Interaction with the Company: Companies have to visit K J Somaiya College on the fixed date according to the placement schedule and firstly they deliver a pre-placement talk for the students so that they are well aware of the basic policies followed by the company and helps the students to clear all the queries.

STEP 5

Shortlisting of registered candidates: Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of the specific academic requirements as demanded by the recruiters which are known as pre-hiring demands and hence only these shortlisted candidates are eligible for the next stage of the placement process.

STEP 6

Selection tests conducted by Recruiters: After the pre-placement talk has been delivered and the resumes of the interested candidates are shortlisted various tests are conducted by the companies in order to test the potential students and students are shortlisted accordingly.

STEP 7

Group Discussion: Students clearing the screening tests conducted by the recruiters will further have to participate in Group Discussion which may be on any topic and candidates have to voice their opinion and present their thoughts in front of the interviewers. Candidates voicing their opinion and presenting their thoughts in front of the interviewers in a group are selected for the next round.

STEP 8

Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates have to appear for the interview taken by the companies in order to judge the overall personality of the potential candidate and ensure that they are suitable for the job profile. Candidates who qualify the personal interview are finally selected in the placement drive.

STEP 9

Making the Job Offer to the finally selected candidates: Candidates who are successful in qualifying all the tests and personal interview conducted by the recruiters, are finally selected in the placement drive of K J Somaiya College and these candidates are offered jobs and the selected candidates give their acceptance if they are willing to join the company on the specified date of joining.
