Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Karad (Formerly known as Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences “Deemed to be University", Karad) was declared as “Deemed To Be University” under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 by Ministry of Human Resources Development vide Notification No. F.9-15/2001-U.3 dated 24th May 2005, having its registered office at Near Dhebewadi Road, Malkapur 415539, Tal. Karad, Dist. Satara hereinafter referred to as "KVV (DU)". It is now renamed as Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) vide Notification dated 21st November 2022 by the Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education, ICR Division, Government of India on the recommendations of UGC.

Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Karad is located in Western Maharashtra, India against the background of mountains and valleys. The green, eco-friendly campus is spread over 57 acres and is well connected by rail, road & air.

Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Karad is accredited by NAAC with A+ grade and is an ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System) certified University. It is an ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System) and ISO 50001:2018 (Energy Management System) certified. Its teaching hospital (KH & MRC) is NABH accredited, the laboratories KIMS Diagnostic and Molecular Biology & Genetics are NABL accredited. So also it's Blood Bank accredited by NABH and the Neonatal ICU by National Neonatal Forum of India. The Karad campus has been awarded the IGBC green campus Gold Certification Award.

The constituent faculties of the University include Medical, Dental, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Pharmacy and Science and Technology offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the respective faculties. It also runs Ph.D. programs and Post-Doctoral Fellowships in various subjects.

Admission Procedure

KVV Karad Courses are offered at UG, PG, Doctorate level. There are 154 courses offered at KVV Karad. The courses are offered disciplines like Medical, Science, Dental, Paramedical. KVV Karad courses includes B.Sc, MBBS, Ph.D, B.P.T, M.D, M.Sc, BDS, B.Sc (Nursing), B Pharma, Diploma. Popular courses at KVV Karad are B.Sc, MBBS, Ph.D.

Admission Criteria

MBBS & BDS Admission 2025

Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth offers admission to its MBBS and BDS courses based on scores in the NEET UG entrance exam, followed by state counseling. 85% of total seat intake is to be filled through MCI cousnelling based on All India Rank and 15% of the seats are to be filled via institute level counselling.

MD, MS & MDS Admission 2025

KVV Karad offers admission to its MD, MS, and MDS courses based on scores in the national-level entrance exam, i.e., NEET PG, followed by state counseling. It offers MD in 15 different specializations. The first-year fees for the MD courses vary from INR 35,000 to INR 32 Lakhs.

Eligibility Criteria

• MBBS - The candidates must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50 % marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. For the candidates belonging to Schedule Castes / Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together shall be 40%.
• B.D.S - Candidates shall be an Indian National and have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of his / her admission to the College.
  He should have passed the (10+2) Higher Secondary Schools Certificate Examination or an equivalent.
  In case of Foreign candidates, He/she should have passed examination from any School / College situated abroad, as equivalent thereto shall submit equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
  An applicant must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50 % marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination.
• B.Sc. -  Passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks Entrance exam conducted by the University 
  
• B.Pharma - Candidate must have passed Std. XII (10+2) examination, or equivalent, with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics (PCM), Biology (PCB), or both (PCMB) as optional subjects 100
  
• B.P.T. - Passed 10+2, with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with at least 35% marks..
  
• D.Pharma - Passed 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects
  

Placement 

• Being a medical college, “placement” is more in the form of internship, PG admission, joining hospital services rather than typical campus corporate recruitment.
  
• Because KIMS has large hospital and good clinical exposure, students get hands-on practice which supports PG prospects and employment in hospitals.
  

Scholarship

Scholarships are available including merit-based/need-based support; being a rural-service oriented institution, there may be concessional seats or aids for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
