L. D. College of Engineering (LDCE), Ahmedabad is a premier government engineering institute in Gujarat State set with the objectives of imparting higher education, research and training in various fields of engineering & technology. The institute is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad and administrated by the Department of Technical Education, Government of Gujarat.

The institute was established in June 1948 with a generous donation of Rs. 25 lacs and 31.2 Hectres of land by the textile magnate Sheth Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai. Hence College is named as Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering(LDCE). It is situated adjacent to Gujarat University campus and is located at the nucleus of various national level institutes such as PRL, ATIRA, IIM etc. The campus is having buildings for various departments, offices, hostels, residences for Principal, rector and wardens.

Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering offers B.E in 14 different specializations. The eligibility to apply is 10+2 or HSC qualification with 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Math. The admission in B.E will be granted on the basis of merit list prepared by taking into account 60% preference of marks in theory subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics obtained in HSC and 40% of percentile marks of GUJCET examination

Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering offers postgraduate courses in M.E/M.Tech in 16 specialisations. The institute also offers an MCA programme with a total of 30 seats. In order to be eligible for the M.E/M.Tech course, a candidate should have passed B.E./B.Tech. with a minimum 50% (45% for SC/ST/SEBC candidates) marks.

Admissions are given on the basis of merit list prepared by the college according to the marks obtained in GPGCET/GATE.
The preference will be given to the candidates with a valid score in GATE. However, the vacant seats, if any, will be filled as per marks secured in GPGCET.
