Providence College of Engineering is the realisation of the vision of the late Shri George Mathew (Monachan) of the Pazhavana family of Chengannur.

A successful NRI businessman, his vision was to build a legacy in his hometown that would make a meaningful contribution to the future of the state and nation.

Born in Chengannur on 9th April 1951, Monachan was the only son of the late Shri PV Mathew and the late Smt Rachel Mathew.

After a seven-year career in government service in Rajasthan, in 1977 he moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he embarked on a 42-year career in the oil & gas engineering industry.

In 2012 he founded the MGM Society and poured his heart and soul into building an engineering college unmatched in infrastructure and facilities.

Providence College of Engineering was launched with fanfare in 2015 and under his visionary leadership, the institution rose to become the youngest and one of the most prominent engineering colleges in Kerala.

His indelible mark can be seen in every aspect of the institution.

After setting up the college and witnessing the graduation of its first batch of engineers, Monachan passed away on 9th September 2019, having paved the way for generations to follow.

GOVERNMENT QUOTA

50% of the total seats in BTech courses are set apart for centralized allotment by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations as agreed upon with the Government of Kerala.
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry as one of the optional subjects, with at least 45% marks put together in the above subjects are eligible for admission in the Government quota.
To be allotted to Providence College via the Government quota, candidates must opt for the institution code PRC and preferred branch of study during their online submission as and when announced by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

Candidates who wish to opt to gain admission through the government quota must do so through the portal of the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations and select Providence College of Engineering with the institution code, PRC.
Only those candidates who qualify in Kerala Engineering, Agriculture & Medical (KEAM) Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala in the current year, will be considered.

MANAGEMENT QUOTA

35% seats of the sanctioned intake are considered to be Management quota seats. These seats are allotted on the basis of merit by ranking applicants on the basis of marks obtained for PCM in the qualifying examination and rank obtained in the Kerala Engineering, Agriculture & Medical (KEAM) Entrance Examination of the current year.
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) put together are eligible for admission in the Management quota.
Only those candidates who qualify in Kerala Engineering, Agriculture & Medical (KEAM) Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala in the current year, will be considered.

NRI QUOTA

15% of the sanctioned intake is considered for admission under the NRI quota.
NRI students are admitted by the college management based on their academic eligibility as per APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) norms and are exempted from qualifying in Kerala Engineering, Architecture & Medical (KEAM) entrance examination.

LATERAL ENTRY

Lateral entry is an option for those who have completed a recognized diploma course or students in the final year of a diploma course to upgrade their qualification to a full-fledged Bachelor degree by entering the BTech program in the 2nd year.
Admission is given by the management based on the marks scored in qualifying Examination; subject to other eligibility criteria. The qualifying examinations are:
3 year Engineering Diploma Certificate
3 year BSc degree in Physics or Mathematics as main and Mathematics as one of the subsidiary subjects.
The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) and relevant regulatory bodies may, from time to time, amend/modify the rules and for lateral entry admissions. Please refer the DTE website for the most up to date information about lateral entry admissions.

Providence College of Engineering and School of Business Placement

PCESB, Chengannur has a dedicated Placement Team lead by the expert and provides 100% placement assistance to the students. The team has been working on an intensive program of training and placement drives on and off campus to achieve this outstanding result. As per the placement record, more than 80%-90% eligible students got placed from the 2015-19 batch across multiple companies. The highest package is offered at INR 3.2 LPA and the average package is offered at INR 2 LPA. Some of the top recruiters are IBM, UST Global TCS, Stanadyne, Habitat, Capgemini, Euro Posetech, IBM, Arth, 6d Technologies, and many more.

Scholarship 1
The college provides scholarships to students seeking admission through Government and Management quota only are given below:

1) KEAM Rank Up To 10,000/ : tuition fees (INR 13500) with scholarship value of 86% for management quota and for government quota tuition fees (INR 13500) with scholarship value of 73%

2) Aggregate percentage Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics Aggregate 90% + : tuition fees (INR 13500) with scholarship value of 86% for management quota and for government quota tuition fees (INR 13500) with scholarship value of 73%

3) Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics Aggregate 80-89% : tuition fees (INR 25000) with scholarship value of 74% for management quota and for government quota tuition fees (INR 13500) with scholarship value of 50%

4) Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics Aggregate 60-79% : tuition fees (INR 50000) with scholarship value of 47% for management quota.


All other fees and charges levied by the college will still apply except tuition fees.

Fee Waiver: 5% seats in each branch will be allocated by the government under Fee Waiver Category of AICTE with exemption from payment of tuition and special fees.
