Rajeev Institute of Technology (RIT), a private technical co-educational engineering college is one of the most renowned and reputed Institution among the four Engineering colleges in Hassan City and is a premier centre for Technical Education.  It was started as one in the galaxy of Technical Colleges under the aegis of the Rajeev Education Trust which was founded by people with noble thoughts, who aimed to bring quality education and to serve the society on a large scale.

 
The RIT, a Private co-educational un-aided engineering college was established in the year 2008 by Late Dr. V. Rajeev a renowned medical practitioner, great visionary and philanthropist.  His dynamic and enterprising daughter Dr. Rachana Rajeev took up the reins of the establishment as its President and with the support of Dr. Ranjith Rajeev, the Vice President and Dr. B.N Rathna Rajeev, the Secretary of the Rajeev education trust has been instrumental in initiating the new B.E courses such as Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) from the year 2022 and B.E. in Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design and Technology) from the year 2023.

 
The Rajeev Institute of Technology is situated on a sprawling campus that covers approximately 21 acres of serene land about 7 km from Hassan city in Plot 1-D, Growth Center, Industrial Area, B-M Bypass Road, Hassan, Karnataka. 

 
Rajeev Institute of Technology is an affiliated college of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgavi.  It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Directorate of Technical Education (Karnataka State). Entire admission process for First Year Engineering and Direct Second Year Engineering is carried out through Karnataka Examination Authority (Government of Karnataka) and the institute strictly follows rules laid down by the DTE & KEA.

Hostel
Separate hostels are provided for both boys and girls with a choice of two or three shared rooms. The students are provided the best possible comfort with well furnished rooms that come with attached bathrooms. A common room with mess facilities are features of each of the hostels, besides a visitors’ room. Each hostel has been provided with more than one TV with dish connections.

Both the hostels have generators, water coolers, and dining halls with a modern kitchen. Doctors will be available on call from our hospital to take care of the health and always make them feel at home. Both men and women hostels are situated inside the campus and are managed by full time residential wardens.

Transport

The college has its own fleet of buses that ply to and from various vantage points in the city. It is to facilitate easy travel for the students and staff residing outside the college campus. The buses travel through the city and suburbs; routes are planned properly to be punctual and convenient for students and staff. Additionally, the college has the advantage of being well connected to the KSRTC bus services and a major station of the under commission.
