Shree Devi Institute of Technology campus set amidst the vibrant surroundings of suburban Mangalore in an ambience of 12 acres of natural beauty.   The college is situated in Kenjar Village, Malavoor Panchayat, Airport Road, Bajpe, Mangalore, Karnataka.  SDIT is located in close proximity to Mangalore Railway Station (12.2 km) and Mangaluru International Airport (1.6 km).

Shree Devi Institute of Technology is a famed destination for students aspiring to pursue Engineering, Management or Computer Education.  The Institute currently offers opportunity to students to pursue BE in 8 branches at the UG level and MBA, MCA and M.Tech (Comp Science) at the PG level.  Candidates must qualify KCET and Karnataka PGCET to apply for admissions to the UG and PG programs.  The Physics Research Centre at SDIT facilitates strong Doctoral programs and Research projects with very active National and International Research Collaboration.

Placements in Shree Devi Institute of Technology begins in the seventh semester. The Department of Placement & Training is recognized for its ability to plan and implement value added programs such as the PDP programs, Technology Training Programs and Bridge Courses in the areas of interest and requirements for the industry. This adds to the credentials of the students and builds the quality of the engineering professionals from the college.

Placement and Training Department are also providing the necessary Pre-Placement Training for the pre-final year students in the form of Pre-Placement talks arranged of various industries / corporate, training from the seniors on nature of the written test being imparted and process of interview of different industries. The Placement Department also regularly organizes talks from various professionals from different universities for pursuing higher education abroad and talks from trainers for undertaking competitive exams like CAT, GMAT, and Aptitude etc.

Industrial Training Facilities
College also provides early industrial exposure for our students by organizing industrial visits. Students of second, third and final year are encouraged to have as much exposure as is possible to various industries and are assisted to undergo vocational training to gain competence by relating theory to practical.

Department Goals:
• To develop the Department of Placement & Training as a single window nodal point for career counselling and Higher learning in Engineering & Technology fields
• To set up the Training Infrastructure for conducting value added training programs and enhance the employability of students
• To institute the best practices in conducting and co-coordinating the campus placement process for the industries in the institution
• To build up a computerized database of students of all the branches with a view to serve the industries requirement in a queue response mode.

The Trust helps the students from low income families to pursue their education by providing them with scholarships.

Infrastructure

Spacious classrooms are designed to facilitate discussions, audio visual presentations and practical demonstrations. Wi-Fi classrooms enable students to source information from the internet for more effective learning. These audio-visual aids are a boon to teachers and students alike.
The Seminar Halls are equipped with modern audio-visual equipment, LCD and slide projectors .Each student is given customized attention. Brainstorming is encouraged and practiced in small alcoves projecting out of these rooms.

Edu-sat facility enables the students to learn from online classes conducted by their professors and other eminent personalities. Our highly qualified and experienced faculty members are also available after class hours for the students who seek extra guidance. Various speakers from the industry as well as academics are invited to interact with students and share their experiences.

The college also organizes soft skill training programmes to help the students develop their communication, personal, interpersonal, managerial and organizational abilities. The modern and fully- equipped Seminar Halls help the faculty in conducting smart-classes with the help of modern audio-visual equipment, LCD projectors, slide projectors, TVs & VCRs. Students are encouraged to make presentations to develop their skills of communication and assist their understanding of the subjects.

Library

The SDIT library is fully computerized thus providing the students an easy access to the gamut of books available. The library has an open access system and maintains author, title, subject and series catalogues to provide multiple accesses to the books. There are 2684 titles, 16918 books, 76 National and 76 International Journals in engineering. There are 550 titles, 2832 books, 24 National and 12 International Journals in MBA. There are 386 titles, 2323 books, 24 National and 12 International Journals in MCA. Books on Engineering, Management and Computer Application are available along with the ones prescribed by the university. About 1000 books are added each year on account of advancement in the fields of these subjects. The library also hosts books on allied subjects and general studies. To promote the reading habits in students periodicals and journals are made available in the reading room itself.
The library also provides Audio Visual facilities, a photo copying center, book bank facilities to enable information access in the simplest of ways. Books are made available in multiple copies. A good number of trained staff assist students to find relevant material and to ensure the safe handling of the books.
The library also maintains encyclopedias, dictionaries, hand books, data books, catalogues, ISI specifications and books from other streams of knowledge.

hostel

Separate hostel facility for boys and girls is available for outstation students. The hostels are provided with comfortable rooms with attached bathrooms, adequate furniture, appropriate lighting and ventilation, round the clock hot water, hygienic food and an information centre where the students have access to TV and newspapers. The hostel Warden is responsible for the discipline, maintenance of the buildings and allotment of rooms. There are other hostel staff consists of caretakers, block supervisors and attendants.
A hygienic mess caters to the nutritional requirements of the students. Over the years the hostel has been much liked and appreciated by students and staff members for its convenience and amenities.

Sports

The college provides adequate facilities for sporting activities that are necessary to encourage the all-round development of the students. The college sports teams have represented the college in various state and national level competitions and have brought home laurels. The college also hosts a state- level, intercollegiate tournament which is very popular with the student fraternity.

The college has its own fleet of 18 buses to ensure comfortable transportation for its students. These buses run on all working days on various routes through the city. The buses are run efficiently and punctually in accordance to stipulated time schedules. Students are expected to abide by the rules and regulations set for the smooth functioning of the transport system.

Rules and Regulations:
• Bus pass: Bus pass will be issued to each student and he or she is expected to carry the same all the time while travelling in the bus without fail.
• The passes will be issued by the transportation department after receiving the required payments in advance.
• The transport department may conduct surprise inspection for the passes whenever they see fit.
• Holding of seats, fights, inappropriate behavior, using foul language, showing disrespect to fellow travelers-both teachers and students, on the bus shall be dealt with seriously.
• Students are expected to inform the driver in advance in case of a change in their pickup point
• Change of residence, absence or any such issue should be intimated to the transport staff in advance.
• Students should act responsibly and be disciplined during the commute. They are liable to a hefty penalty in case of damage or defacing of bus accessories.
• The uniform transport facility is mandatory for all the management seat students. Students are expected to get enrolled at the department soon after their admissions.
