Sriram Engineering College (SEC)

Sriram Engineering College, a constituent institution of Sriram Educational Trust (1983), was established in the year 1993 by Thiru M.E. Devarajan (founder and chairman of Sriram Educational Trust).  This Temple of Learning in a remote rural backward village is one of the oldest Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu, making great strides in achieving excellence in technical education since inception.   It has been benefiting thousands and thousands of students mostly coming from the economically poor and socially weaker sections of the society, also happened to be first generation learners.

 In its two and half decades of remarkable service in Technical Education, SEC has produced more than 8 University First Ranks (Gold Medalists) and several University Rank Holders.  The institution has also shaped over 10,000 dynamic Engineers and Technocrats as on date.   It is fitting to be embossed in Golden letters that the first batch students of the Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering branches of this college secured the University Gold Medals and took the college to glory, igniting the pursuit of academic excellence of the institution. Sriram Engineering College is situated near the Veppampattu railway station at Perumalpattu, Tiruvallur Dt., Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India and provides quality education to students from the weaker sections of the society.

Sriram Engineering College offers various UG and PG Degree programs in the field of Engineering and Technology.  It offers B.E and B.Tech programs at undergraduate level.  

The B.E program is offered in 5 electives, i.e Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, CSE (AI&ML) and CSE (Cyber Security).

The B.Tech program is offered in 2 electives i.e CS & Business Systems and Artificial Intelligence & Data Science.

At Postgraduate level, Sriram Engineering College offers M.E program in 2 specializations i.e Computer Science & Engineering, and Applied Electronics.

 For B.E/B.Tech Admission, basic eligibility requirement is passed in 10+2 with 45% marks from a recognised board and Admission will be granted on the basis of TNEA Entrance Exam score.  The basic eligibility criteria for admission to M.Tech program is B.tech degree in relevant specialization with at least 45% marks.

Admission Procedure

Sriram Engineering College primarily uses a merit-based system for admissions, evaluating candidates based on their performance in the qualifying exam. The college offers both undergraduate (B.E./B.Tech) and postgraduate (M.E./M.Tech) programs. Admission to Sriram Engineering College is based on merit and requires meeting the eligibility criteria and fulfilling the selection requirements.

Admission Process

Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (+2) with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry for General Category students. Reserved category students (BC, MBC, DNC, SC/ST) require at least 40% aggregate marks.

Eligibility

Admissions are based on the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.

M.E./M.Tech-2 Years course

Candidates must have a B.E./B.Tech degree in the relevant field with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).
