NATA - 2024
National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is a national-level undergraduate exam which is conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA) for admission to 5-year B. Arch and B. Planning programmes. The test is conducted in online and offline mode.
National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is being conducted by COA since 2006, to qualify for the admission to Bachelor of Architecture. The Council has prescribed CoA (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 1983 and in the year 2020 the Council has prescribed the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 2020, with the approval of the Central Government in terms of Sections 21 & 45 of the Architects Act, 1972. These Regulations prescribe that the candidate needs to qualify an Aptitude Test in Architecture conducted either by NTA (i.e., JEE) or NATA conducted by the Council for admission to the Architecture degree course. The actual admissions shall be carried out only by the concerned competent authorities of the respective States / UT’s etc., Institutions based on valid NATA score and eligibility criteria prescribed by CoA and concerned authorities
As per the Candidates who have passed (Senior secondary Examination) 10+2, Diploma (10+3) or equivalent exam with 50% marks in aggregate in any stream from Central/ State Government with Mathematics being the compulsory subject are eligible to apply for NATA exam.

The architecture entrance exam NATA syllabus environment. Interpretation of pictorial compositions, Visualizing three-dimensional objects from a two-dimensional drawing.
Visualizing different sides of 3D objects. Analytical reasoning, mental ability (visual, numerical, and verbal), General awareness of national/ international architects, and famous architectural creations.
Syllabus for Drawing Test
Understanding scale and proportion of objects, geometric composition, shape, building forms and elements, aesthetics, colour texture, harmony and contrast, conceptualization and visualization through structuring objects in memory.
Drawing of patterns – both geometrical and abstract, form transformations in 2D and 3D like union, subtraction, rotation, surfaces, and volumes.
Creating 2D and 3D compositions using given shapes and forms generates a plan, elevation, and 3D view of objects. Perspective drawing, Sketching of urbanscape, and landscape common day-to-day life object like furniture, equipment, etc., from memory.
