Corporate Resource Center and Placement Cell (CRCP) At JVWU, an integral part of the career development programme is placement, which is undertaken by the Corporate Resource Center and Placement Cell (CRCP). The CRCP prepares the students for a successful future and not merely a job. The placement process is manifold. It includes 1.Personality development, 2. Gap identification, 3. Mock interview, 4. To date, the college has held two placement drives in the year 2019 and 2020. The college has a career guidance cell that is there to help the students to get placed. IIIT Dharwad Placement Cell trains and guides the students to make them industry ready and also counsel them to reach for better opportunities. In these two years, the company has brought various multinational companies to their campus for campus recruitment.
Stage 1: IIIT Dharwad Placement Cell approaches various companies for finding placement opportunities. The faculty and coordinator talk to the companies and their recruitment departments and invite them for placement drive. Stage 2: Those companies, who accept the invitation, discuss their job description and their requirements with the career guidance cell. They also fix the placement drive date and time. Stage 3: The students are notified of the details of the upcoming placement drive. They are provided with a student recruitment form on the college portal. The students will have to register their name and their details with the CGC. Stage 4: The company will arrive at the college on the notified date and time and will hold a pre-placement talk with the students. Then the entire process of test and interview will take place. Stage 5: On the very same day, the company will announce the names of the selected students. In case of not announcing the name on the same day, the students will be allowed to appear in other placements. However, if the name of a student is selected for a position, then they will not be allowed to appear in any other placement. Stage 6: The offer letter should be provided to the career guidance cell by the company to be given to the students. The companies are not allowed to give the offer letter directly to the candidate.
As per the placement data provided by the IIIT Dharwad Placement Cell, there is a significant rise in the number of placements in 2020 as compared to 2019. Also, the average salary per annum offered to the students is more along with the highest salary package. The institute helps the students find good job offers and is also active in providing the students with better internship opportunities. Every year for the summer internship program, the students are sent to various educational institutes and companies to learn new tools and technologies.
Placement Procedure
• The CGC Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and communicating with companies/organizations to seek placement/internship opportunities. • An SRF (Student Recruitment Form) has been made available on the web portal to ensure seamless communication between the institution and the companies/organizations. • The companies/organizations provide their JDs (Job Descriptions) along with the details of the job offer (pay package, location, allowances and other bonuses) and the preferred dates of the campus visits in the SRF. • Companies visit the campus on the allotted date(s) and conduct PPTs (Pre-Placement Talks), tests and/or interviews in accordance with their recruitment processes. • The company/organization is required to furnish the final list of selected students preferably on the same day of the campus visit to CGC. • In case the company/organisation is unable to declare the result on the same day, then the student is allowed to participate in other recruitment processes & the final decision will depend upon who declares the result first. • The purview of the CGC is restricted to the offers made as part of the campus placement process only. • The company shall route the offer letters to the students through the CGC and not directly to the students.
