Dr. Syamala Reddy Dental College Hospital & Research Centre was established in 1991, by the SGR Technical and Educational Society (Regd), which was established in 1985, was the embodiment of the dreams and visions of Late Prof. Dr. S.Ganesh Reddy, a Squadron Leader, an academician , a scientist and an able administrator with numerous laurels to his credit, a great repute of the Indian Air Force with over 2000 operational flying hours to his credit and a distinguished professor in Aerospace Engineering at the Institute of Aerospace Medicine , Bengaluru.

It is the aim of Dr.SRDCH & RC library to serve the varied needs of its many readers efficiently and be helpful in imparting education, promoting research and development, thereby leading to improved patient care. Dr. SRDCH& RC uses the Dewey Decimal System of library classification to organize books and journals on library shelves in a specific and repeatable order that makes it easy to find any book and return it to its proper place. The Library makes available to the staff and students a wide collection of medical and dental literature, including Books, Journals, Research periodicals, Compact Discs, Reference sources, and Pamphlets. The digital library housed in the basement augments the print collection by its online access. Access is available to various databases, providing free access to more than 300 medical and dental journals, like the RGUHS Helinet, Pubmed, Medline, Cochrane, etc.

The cafeteria on the Dr. SRDCH & RC campus serves a full range of nutritious and hygienically prepared meals and refreshments. Smaller coffee shops and affordable restaurants situated around the campus serve a variety of cuisines.
