The online preference form is available through the official admission portal of BITS Pilani. Eligible candidates are required to log in using their application number and password to access and complete the choice-filling process.
The counselling process is a crucial step for securing admission to the various undergraduate programmes offered across the BITS campuses. Candidates who fail to submit their preferences before the deadline may not be considered for seat allotment.
Class 12 Marks Upload Mandatory for Eligible Candidates
BITS Pilani has clearly stated that applicants whose Class XII marksheets or certificates have already been issued by their respective boards must upload the documents during the counselling process.
Failure to upload the required marksheet or certificate may result in the rejection of the application, regardless of the candidate's BITSAT score.
However, special provisions have been made for students whose Class 12 results have not yet been declared.
Relief for Students Awaiting Class 12 Results
Candidates whose Class XII results remain pending as of June 1, 2026, including students from NIOSand other boards with delayed result declarations, will be allowed to submit their Class 12 marks and upload the corresponding documents on or before July 10, 2026.
Nevertheless, such candidates must still complete the following requirements within the current deadline:
- Fill and submit the First Degree (FD) preference form.
- Enter programme choices.
- Pay the applicable counselling fee.
- Complete the application process between April 29 and June 1, 2026.
Only candidates who complete these steps will be considered for the subsequent stages of the admission process.
BITSAT 2026 Seat Allotment Process
Admission to BITS campuses will be granted based on:
- Candidate's performance in BITSAT 2026.
- Fulfilment of the minimum eligibility requirement of 75% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
- Availability of seats in the preferred programme and campus.
The institute will release seat allotment results through multiple rounds known as Iterations.
Candidates who receive a seat allotment must confirm their admission by paying the prescribed admission fee within the specified timeline. Failure to do so may lead to cancellation of the allotted seat.
