Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology, Ahmedabad - CEPT University, Opens Spring 2026 Admissions for M.Arch (Housing Design); Apply by December 10: CEPT University has officially launched the Spring 2026 admission cycle for its Master’s in Architecture (Housing Design) programme, offered under the Faculty of Architecture. This mid-year admission window provides an exceptional opportunity for architecture graduates who missed the regular intake and wish to join one of India’s leading specialised housing design programmes without delaying their academic plans.

The two-year postgraduate programme integrates rigorous design studios with research-led coursework focusing on housing policy, affordability, regulatory frameworks, typologies, and city-level housing challenges. CEPT’s M.Arch (Housing Design) is also the only programme nationwide that empowers students to personalise their academic pathways by selecting studios and electives aligned with their career aspirations.

Students benefit from vertical studios that explore themes such as flexibility, affordable housing, and parametric systems. Additionally, CEPT’s popular Winter and Summer School electives add multidisciplinary exposure across contemporary housing concerns. The programme also features strong global linkages, including collaborations with institutions like the National University of Singapore and TU Delft, and inputs from renowned practitioners such as Ar. Biju Kuriakose, Ar. Chitra Vishwanath and Ar. Yatin Pandya—enhancing students’ global awareness and professional readiness.

As India’s housing sector continues to expand rapidly amid climate pressures, urbanisation, and evolving policy frameworks, architects trained specifically in housing design are becoming critical to shaping sustainable, inclusive living environments. CEPT’s M.Arch (Housing Design) has been crafted to respond to these needs by preparing graduates to deliver innovative, context-sensitive housing solutions for emerging urban India.

Speaking about the programme, Professor Viswanath Kashikar, Programme Chair of M.Arch (Housing Design), highlighted the need for specialised talent in the sector. He said, “There is a dearth of practitioners, researchers, and academicians in the field of housing design. The program provides a rare opportunity for students to chart their own futures and make meaningful contributions in the field of housing design in India.”
