CLAT Counselling 2026 Updates
The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will publish the CLAT 2026 First Merit List on January 6, 2026. Aspirants can view the seat allotment results online at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. It is important to note that the first seat allotment list will be issued individually for all participating NLUs. The CLAT 2026 examination was conducted on December 7, 2025.
Candidates who are allotted a seat in the first round of CLAT 2026 counselling must ensure that they freeze, float, or withdraw their allotted seat within the prescribed timeline. To confirm a seat under the freeze or float option, candidates are required to pay a non-refundable confirmation fee of INR 20,000.
How to Check CLAT Counselling 2026 First Merit List
Candidates can follow the steps below to view the CLAT 2026 counselling first allotment list:
- Visit the official website www.consortiumofnlus.ac.in
- Log in to the CLAT 2026 counselling portal using your registered mobile number and password
- The CLAT 2026 first seat allotment list will appear on the screen
- Verify your allotment status and download the result for future reference
How to Check CLAT 2026 Cut-Off
Candidates can access the CLAT 2026 cut-off through the provisional seat allotment list released by the consortium for each counselling round. Follow the steps given below:
- Visit consortiumofnlus.ac.in
- Click on the CLAT 2026 tab
- Select the option for CLAT First Merit List
- Choose the NLU for which you want to view the cut-off
- The CLAT 2026 cut-off PDF will be displayed on the screen
- Download and save the PDF for future use
CLAT 2026 Counselling Fee
The CLAT 2026 counselling fee is INR 30,000 for candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories, while candidates from SC/ST/OBC/BC/EWS/PWD categories are required to pay INR 20,000.
For CLAT Counselling 2026, only online payments made through the official CLAT website will be accepted. Payment of the counselling fee is mandatory to secure a seat during the admission process. After this, candidates must pay the remaining course-related charges, which include tuition fees and other refundable or non-refundable components.
Candidates who have paid the counselling fee and selected the freeze or float option will receive a refund if they later decide to withdraw or exit the allotted seat as per the counselling rules.
