GATE 2027 to Feature 30 Test Papers

IIT Madras has announced that GATE 2027 will consist of 30 test papers, providing candidates with a wide range of engineering and interdisciplinary subjects to choose from.

One of the biggest highlights this year is the introduction of a new paper on Robotics and Automation. This newly added paper is optional and has been introduced keeping in view the rapidly growing demand for automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing technologies across industries.

Major Syllabus Revision After Five Years

The institute has also confirmed that the GATE syllabus has been revised after five years to better align with the evolving needs of academia, technological advancements, and industry requirements.

The updated syllabus is intended to ensure that candidates are evaluated on the latest concepts and developments relevant to modern engineering and scientific education.

Changes in Textile Engineering Paper

Another significant change announced for GATE 2027 concerns the Textile Engineering and Fibre Sciencepaper.

Instead of being offered as a separate standalone paper, it has now been converted into a sectional paper under Engineering Sciences. This restructuring is expected to provide greater flexibility while aligning the subject with broader engineering disciplines.
