GATE Admit Card 2026:
The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IIT Guwahati), which is the conducting body for GATE 2026, will activate the GATE admit card 2026 download link on the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in. Registered candidates will be able to download their GATE 2026 hall ticket through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) by logging in with their enrollment ID and password starting January 2, 2026.
Candidates should note that the GATE 2026 admit card will be issued only in online mode. Applicants appearing for the examination on the scheduled GATE 2026 exam dates must carry a printed copy of their admit card along with a valid photo identity proof to the examination centre.
How to Download GATE Admit Card 2026: Step-by-Step Guide
Candidates can download their GATE 2026 exam admit card by following the steps given below:
- Once the GATE 2026 admit card is released, visit the official website at gate2026.iitg.ac.in
- Click on the “Application Portal” option; the GOAPS login page will appear on the screen
- Enter your GATE enrolment ID, password, and the captcha code
- The option to “Download GATE Admit Card 2026” will be available on the dashboard
- Click on the link, and the admit card will be downloaded
- Carefully verify all the details and take a printout for future reference
In case of any discrepancy in the admit card details, candidates must immediately contact the GATE examination authorities and report the issue well before the GATE 2026 exam date.
GATE 2026 Exam Dates and Timings
IIT Guwahati has announced the GATE 2026 exam dates for all 30 subject papers. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering will be conducted on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, in two shifts each day.
- GATE 2026 CSE will be conducted on February 8, 2026, in two shifts
- GATE 2026 CE will be held on February 14, 2026, in two shifts
- GATE 2026 EE will take place in the first shift on February 14, 2026
- GATE 2026 ME will be conducted in the second shift on February 14, 2026
- GATE 2026 ECE will be conducted in the first shift on February 15, 2026
GATE Exam 2026 Shift Timings
The IIT GATE 2026 examination will be conducted in two daily shifts as mentioned below:
- Forenoon Shift: 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
- Afternoon Shift: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM
GATE 2026: Documents to be Carried to the Exam Centre
Candidates appearing for GATE 2026 must carry the following items to the examination centre:
- Printed copy of GATE Admit Card 2026
- One valid photo identity proof
- A transparent water bottle
- A pen or pencil for rough work
Candidates are advised to reach the GATE 2026 exam centre at least one hour before the commencement of the examination. A scribble pad will be provided inside the examination hall for rough work.
