JEE Main 2026 Exam Day Documents: Complete List of Required Items and Guidelines: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will administer the JEE Main 2026 examination in two phases. Session 1 is scheduled from January 21 to January 29, while Session 2 will be conducted between April 2 and April 9. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the first phase of the JEE Main 2026 examination on January 21, 22, 23, 24, 28, and 29. The examination will be conducted in two shifts each day, namely the morning and evening sessions. The morning shift will take place from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while the evening shift will run from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The examination will be held at multiple test centres across India as well as at selected international locations.

The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 admit card has been released and is now available for download. Candidates must visit the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, and log in using their credentials to download the admit card. Key Examination Schedule Details

The JEE Main 2026 examination will be conducted in two shifts daily:

What Not to Carry to the JEE Main 2026 Exam Centre

Candidates are strictly forbidden from carrying the following items inside the examination hall. Possession of any prohibited item may result in confiscation and possible disqualification.

Pen, paper, pencil, printed or written material, pencil box, geometry box, etc.

ID Cards

ID cards issued by schools, colleges, universities, or coaching institutes; photocopies or digital images of ID stored on mobile phones.

Eatables

Any food items (packed or loose) and water.

Electronics/Gadgets/Metallic Items

Mobile phones, earphones, microphones, pagers, calculators, DocuPen, slide rules, log tables, cameras, tape recorders, watches of any kind (including electronic or calculator watches), and all metallic or electronic devices.

Bags

Any type of handbag, purse, or backpack.

 


Important Instructions for JEE Main 2026 Exam Day

Visit the Exam Centre in Advance: Candidates are encouraged to visit their allotted examination centre one day prior to the exam. This helps in locating the centre accurately and estimating travel time and distance.

Reporting Time and Entry Rules: Candidates must reach the exam centre at least one hour before the reporting time mentioned on the JEE Main 2026 admit card. Entry will not be permitted after the gate closing time under any circumstances.

Rough Work Guidelines: Candidates must write their Name and Roll Number on top of the rough sheets provided. All rough sheets along with the admit card must be handed over to the invigilator before leaving the examination hall.

Attendance Sheet Instructions: All details on the attendance sheet must be filled in carefully. Candidates should paste a colour passport-size photograph (the same as uploaded in the application form), sign at the designated place, and provide a clear left-hand thumb impression without smudging.
