JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Begins: Live Updates on Admit Card, Exam Dates, Shift Timings and Dress Code: The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 admit card download link for the examinations scheduled on January 28 and 29 will be activated shortly. Candidates who have successfully registered can access and download their JEE Main hall ticket by logging in with their application number and password on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to begin the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination from tomorrow, January 21, 2026. The Paper 1 examination for B.E/B.Tech will be conducted in two shifts each day on January 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28. Meanwhile, Paper 2 for B.Arch and B.Planning will take place on January 29. It is important to note that the JEE Main exam scheduled for January 23 in West Bengal has been rescheduled due to the observance of Saraswati Puja. For JEE Main 2026, NTA has set up a total of 323 examination centres across the country. This expansion aims to improve accessibility for candidates from remote regions and to manage the increasing number of applicants.

JEE Main 2026 Admit Card Details
The NTA has already released the JEE Main 2026 admit cards for candidates appearing in the exams from January 21 to 24. Students must download their hall tickets and carry coloured printouts of the admit card, self-declaration form, and photographs, along with a valid photo identity proof, to the examination centre. Candidates who have received an email from NTA regarding a photo verification certificate must also bring this document along with the other mandatory papers.

Steps to Download JEE Main Hall Ticket 2026
The JEE Main 2026 admit card is available on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates can follow the steps given below to download their hall ticket:

  • Click on the JEE Main admit card download link provided above or visit jeemain.nta.nic.in.

  • Under the candidate activity section, locate and click on the hall ticket download link.

  • Enter your application number, password, and captcha code, then click on submit.

  • The JEE Main 2026 admit card will appear on the screen.

  • Verify all the details carefully and take multiple printouts for future reference.

JEE Main 2026 Dress Code for Male and Female Candidates

  • Wear light winter clothing such as a thin sweater, plain cardigan, or light sweatshirt.

  • Opt for clothes made from lightweight materials like thin wool or cotton fleece.

  • Caps, hats, scarves, stoles, mufflers, or similar accessories are not permitted inside the exam centre.

  • Plain jeans without metal accessories, simple trousers, or warm leggings/jeggings are allowed.

  • Avoid wearing any jewellery, including rings, bracelets, watches (digital or analogue), or chains.

  • Candidates should wear simple slippers or flat open sandals; shoes with thick soles are prohibited.

  • Avoid underwired bras.

Important JEE Main 2026 Exam Day Instructions

  • Candidates should visit their allotted JEE Main exam centre a day in advance to check the location, travel time, and distance.

  • Reach the examination centre at least one hour before the reporting time mentioned on the JEE Main 2026 admit card. Latecomers will not be permitted entry once the gates are closed. Multiple mandatory verification procedures are conducted at the venue, making punctuality essential.

  • Write your name and roll number clearly at the top of the rough sheets provided and submit them to the invigilator along with the admit card before leaving the examination hall.

  • Fill in all required details on the attendance sheet in clear handwriting, affix your photograph, sign, and provide your left-hand thumb impression in the designated spaces.

  • Candidates must paste a coloured passport-size photograph on the attendance sheet. The photograph should be identical to the one uploaded in the JEE Main application form.
