For the 2026–27 academic session, both attempts will be conducted between March and May 2026. Candidates will have the option to appear in either one or both attempts. This pattern will align gradually with exams like JEE Main, where attempts are widely spaced.
From the 2027–28 session onward, the two attempts are expected to be scheduled over a longer duration on the lines of national-level exams.
MBA/MMS CET Also to Be Held Twice
Along with engineering and pharmacy entrance exams, the CET Cell will also conduct the MAH MBA/MMS CET twice a year, offering management aspirants an additional attempt to secure better scores. However, an official notification regarding the revised exam pattern is awaited.
Why Two Attempts?
The MHT CET exam sees around 6 lakh candidates annually for engineering and pharmacy programmes, and nearly 1 lakh for MBA/MMS admissions. The move to offer two attempts is expected to bring major relief to aspirants by:
- Providing a second chance to improve scores
- Reducing stress of a single-attempt exam
- Increasing flexibility in preparation
