NCAHP Mandates NEET Appearance for Admission to Allied & Healthcare Courses From 2026-27: The National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP), under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has issued an important directive outlining the eligibility criteria for admissions to various Allied and Healthcare courses starting from the academic year 2026-27.

In an official communication (F.No. Z.20025/9/2025-NCAHP) addressed to the Secretary of Higher Education, Secretary of School Education and Literacy, and State/UT Education Departments, the Commission confirmed that 13 curricula for undergraduate and postgraduate Allied and Healthcare programs have already been notified. These curricula, along with more under development, are available on the official NCAHP portal.

The Commission highlighted that, in accordance with the NCAHP Act, 2021, the prescribed entry requirements for these programmes have been incorporated into the approved curricula. Notably, appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) has been included as a mandatory eligibility criterion in most of the notified courses, alongside other academic requirements.

Admissions to these courses are scheduled to commence from the 2026-27 academic session, making NEET participation essential for aspirants completing their Senior Secondary education and seeking to pursue Allied and Healthcare undergraduate programs.

The NCAHP has requested all Central, State, and UT education boards to circulate this information widely among schools and institutions to ensure that students planning a career in the Allied and Healthcare fields are well-informed about the revised eligibility norms.

The directive has been issued with the approval of the competent authority.
