NEET Fee Refund 2026: NTA Extends Deadline to Update Bank Details Till June 30; Final Opportunity for Candidates: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has once again extended the deadline for candidates to submit and update their bank account details for the refund of the NEET 2026 application fee. Candidates can now provide their banking information until June 30, 2026.

The extension has been announced through an official notice published on the NTA website and on its microblogging platform, 'X', offering a final chance to applicants who have not yet completed the refund-related formalities.

Last Date to Fill Bank Account Details for NEET Fee Refund

According to the revised schedule, candidates can update and confirm their bank account information up to June 30, 2026, till 11:55 PM.

Applicants have been strongly advised to carefully verify all banking details, including the account number and IFSC code, before submission. The NTA has clearly stated that it will not be responsible for any refund failures arising due to incorrect or inaccurate bank details provided by candidates.

NTA Introduces OTP-Based Two-Factor Authentication

To ensure that only genuine candidates can access the refund facility, the NTA has implemented an OTP-based Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) system for candidate login.

Under this security mechanism:

  • Candidates must log in using their registered credentials.

  • A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the candidate's registered mobile number.

  • The refund process can be completed only after successful OTP verification.

The additional security layer has been introduced to safeguard candidates' information and ensure that fee refunds are processed only for eligible applicants.

Background: NEET Fee Refund Announcement

Following the cancellation of the NEET examination conducted on May 3, 2026, the Union Education Minister announced that the NEET application/examination fee would be refunded to all registered applicants.

To facilitate the refund process, the NTA initially opened the portal for updating banking information from May 22 to May 27, 2026.

Subsequently, the agency extended the deadline and allowed candidates to update their banking details until June 22, 2026.

Now, considering the requests received from candidates and technical challenges faced by many applicants, the NTA has once again reopened the facility and termed it as the final opportunity to submit or modify banking information for receiving the refund.

Around 19 Lakh Candidates Have Already Submitted Their Details

According to the NTA's official notice, nearly 19 lakh candidates have already filled and confirmed their bank account details for the fee refund process.

However, several candidates were unable to update their information due to technical glitches and heavy traffic on the official website, particularly during the period when candidates were downloading their NEET Re-Exam Admit Cards.

Candidates Who Earlier Chose 'No Refund' Can Also Modify Their Option

The NTA has further stated that it received numerous representations from candidates who had previously selected the 'No Refund' option but now wish to claim the refund.

In view of these requests, the agency has permitted such candidates to revisit the portal and modify their earlier choice by submitting their bank account details within the extended deadline.

Important Instructions for Candidates

Before submitting the refund request, candidates should ensure the following:

  • Enter the correct Bank Account Number.

  • Verify the IFSC Code carefully.

  • Keep the registered mobile number active for OTP verification.

  • Review all entered information before final submission.

  • Download and save the confirmation page for future reference.

Candidates are advised not to wait until the last moment and should complete the process well before the deadline to avoid last-minute server congestion and technical issues.
