NEET PG 2025 Round 1 Resignation Window Reopened by MCC; Candidates Can Resign Till December 10: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued an urgent notice announcing the reopening of the NEET PG 2025 Round 1 resignation facility. This decision was taken after several states requested a two-day postponement of the AIQ Round 2 counselling due to delays in completing their respective Round 1 state counselling processes.

According to the official circular from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, multiple postgraduate candidates who were allotted seats in MCC Round 1 also received seats in their respective State Round 1 counselling. In response, the competent authority has permitted these candidates to resign from their MCC-allotted Round 1 PG seats so they may join their state counselling seats.

MCC stated that this step has been taken in the larger interest of candidates, ensuring that the seats vacated by resigning students become available for Round 2 AIQ choice filling.

Resignation Window Details

  • Start Date: December 8, 2025 (Monday)
  • End Date: December 10, 2025 (Wednesday)
  • Timings: 4:00 PM on Dec 8 to 6:00 PM on Dec 10
  • Mode: Online

Candidates will be required to physically visit their allotted college to complete the formalities and vacate their seats. MCC has instructed all institutions to ensure that resignations are uploaded correctly on the intra MCC portal, failing which the resignation will be considered “Null & Void.”

The notice was officially posted on December 8, 2025.
