According to reports citing senior officials of the National Testing Agency (NTA), the agency is working on a priority basis to release the results as early as possible and prevent any further delay in the medical admission process. Authorities have reiterated that despite the disruptions caused by the re-examination, the academic calendar for MBBS admissions is expected to remain on schedule.

NTA Aims for Faster Result Declaration

Traditionally, NEET results are declared within approximately 45 days of the examination. However, in the case of Re-NEET UG 2026, the examination-to-result timeline has reportedly been compressed to around 37 days, indicating that candidates may receive their results sooner than usual. The accelerated process is intended to ensure that counselling and admissions begin without major disruptions.

Officials have stated that the agency is making every effort to announce the results by July 20 and possibly even earlier if all evaluation processes are completed on time.

Final Answer Key to Be Released Soon

The NTA had released the provisional answer key on June 25, 2026, and candidates were allowed to raise objections until June 28, 2026. Students challenging any question were required to pay a fee of ₹200 per question. If the challenge is accepted by subject experts, the fee is refundable in full.

Any correction approved by the experts will be implemented uniformly across all question paper sets, meaning candidates do not need to submit separate challenges for different sets of the examination paper. If candidates notice any discrepancy between their marked answers and the recorded OMR entries, they can submit objections by paying a non-refundable fee of ₹200 per question, along with supporting evidence.

What Happens After the Result?

Following the declaration of the Re-NEET UG 2026 results, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)will announce the counselling schedule for:

• 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats

• Seats in AIIMS

• Seats in JIPMER

• Seats in Central and Deemed Universities

Meanwhile, individual states will release counselling schedules for admissions under the 85% State Quota seats. Counselling is expected to be conducted in multiple phases, including:
