The College of Technology and Engineering, Udaipur (CTAE) is a constituent college of the Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur. The college was started in 1964 with a Graduate Programme in Agricultural Engineering. Presently the CTAE has undergraduate degree programmes in 8 branches, M.Tech. programmes in 12 disciplines, besides an MBA programme in Engineering and PhD programmes in 9 disciplines. It is situated at about 7 km from Udaipur city railway station and bus terminal and 2 km from Rana Pratap Nagar railway station.

The college has been recognized as Outstanding Engineering College in Northern Region and has been awarded “Outstanding Institution Award” in 2013 by National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh (a Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India, Institute). A project funded by Ministry of Human Resources Development through World Bank on “Technical Education Quality Improvement Project (TEQIP-II)” worth INR 10.0 crore is also functional in this college with the objectives of strengthening laboratories, developing smart-class rooms, enriching college library by procuring, books, e-books and subscribing to journals and undertaking several activities to increase the quality of teaching.

The college has a formal Alumni Association. The College Level Student Union (CLSU) is constituted with the aim of promoting professional and social interest among its members. All the students enrolled in the college become members of this association. The Dean of the college is the Patron of CLSU.

Hobby Clubs:

At college levels various hobby clubs are being organized as per facilities available provided the students take interest and generate resources. Photography, radio, model making, music and painting are a few of them.

Earn While You Learn:

A limited number of needy students may be engaged for time bound short-term engagement in workshops, farms and at other places to do the allotted work. Such students shall be paid remuneration so as to help them while they learn, develop a sense of achievement and learn certain techniques through this activity.

Educational Tours:

The educational tours give exposure to the students about the real scenario of engineering techniques in the field, as such these tours are part of the course curriculum and are assessed. The university contributes actual sleeper class concessional railway fare for the tour subject to maximum limit of Rs 1000/- per student. For other approved tours the university issues only journey concession order of the appropriate class.If a student misses the tour on reasonable grounds he will be asked to take up 15 days additional training.

The college campus has a bank and a post office. Canteen services are also available during office hours. A gymnasium facility is also available where 10-12 students at a time can do different muscular exercises.

*College of Technology and Engineering offers UG Course BE/B Tech in eight specializations. Candidates looking to take admission for BE/B Tech will be done through REAP. Eligibility Criteria for REAP, Candidates must secure a valid rank in JEE Main Entrance Exam and appear for Counseling which Rajasthan Government will organize.
*Candidates must secure 45% of aggregate marks in the 10+2 Exam, and there will be a relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC Candidates. The admissions process for Agriculture Engineering will be done through ICAR (Indian Council of Agriculture Research)
