A P S College of Engineering, expanded as Acharya Pathasala Rural College of Engineering, is a Bengaluru-based professional private co-educational engineering college established in the year 1997 by Acharya Pathasala Educational Trust (APSET).  Prof. Ananthachar, the founder, is a veteran educationist and a well known visionary who foresaw the need for the academic community to grow in strength to strength to play a key role in defining the destiny for our country and registered APSET in the year 1935 as an Educational Trust to impart education to the society at an affordable cost.  

 
APS College of Engineering has a sprawling lush green campus that covers more than 60 acres of land. The campus is situated in the suburbs, at a distance of 26 km (16 mi) from the city on the Kanakapura Main Road (NH 209), Somanahalli, Bengaluru, Karnataka.  It is well connected by a fleet of college buses which pick up the students from all major residential areas of the city and Namma Metro which is 7 km from college is also available.

 
The institution is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, Karnataka and recognised by Government of Karnataka.  It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

 
A P S College of Engineering Courses offered are UG program Bachelor of Engineering - BE (in 7 disciplines). Admission to these UG programs at APSCE is facilitated through three distinct avenues: KCET, COMEDK and the Management Quota. Lateral entry admissions for Diploma students  seeking entry into the second year of B.E. courses are exclusively processed through the Diploma KCET route.

In addition, APSCE offers several Certificate Programs in alignment with the current industrial trends and standards, with commitment to the students extending beyond conventional education. Recognizing the importance of practical skills in the industry, the students are provided with opportunities to acquire additional technical skills that are highly practical in nature. These skills not only enhance their knowledge but also instill the confidence required to excel and compete effectively with their peers in the industry.  The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering has been designated as the central hub for ISRO-IIRS Outreach Programs. Students from all semesters actively participate in these programs, enrolling in Certification Courses according to the provided calendar.

The ECE Department encourages both students and faculty to register for at least one certification program per semester of the MOOC-SWAYAM, NPTEL Add-on Courses to upgrade themselves with the latest technologies and for the better understanding of the subjects.    

Further the ECE Department through its forum “Elektronika” has been successful in involving the alumni to provide at least two Soft Skill Training sessions to the students regularly and has been benefitting them in large. There are also various Soft Skill Training programs conducted through the Training and Placement Department of the college, where the students are educated based on the needs of the industry.

APSCE Research Laboratories serve as the epicentre of innovation, discovery, and academic growth within an institution. It is a dynamic space where students, faculty, and researchers converge to explore the frontiers of science and technology.

Admission to the First Year B.E. program at A P S C E is facilitated through three distinct avenues: KCET, COMEDK, and the Management Quota. Our dedicated Administrative Office staff extends their support to aspiring engineering students, assisting them in navigating the admission procedure and ensuring a smooth transition into their chosen courses. Role of Training and Placement Department
The placement facility is available to all the students registered with Training &Placement Cell.
The role of the Training and Placement Department is of a facilitator and councillor for placement related activities. Training and Placement cell does not guarantee a job.

APS College of Engineering Scholarships

Free Hostel Accommodation Scheme: All students belonging to the Category-1, Category- 2A, Category-3A and Category 3B are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Under this scholarship, students enjoy completely free accommodation for the whole duration of the course.

Prathibha Purskar Scholarship: Students who belong to the SC/ST/OBC/PWD communities related to the Category-1 with an annual income of INR 2.5 Lakhs or below and Category-2A, Category-3A and Category-3B with an annual income up to INR 1 Lakh are eligible to apply. All students applying must also have secured a minimum of 90% or below in their qualifying examinations.

Full Course Fee Scholarship: Students can apply to this Scholarship if their family income is less than 2 Lakhs for students belonging to the SC/ST communities and less than 1 Lakh for students belonging to the OBC/PWD communities.
APS College of Engineering offers Vidyasiri Scholarship too.

APS College of Engineering Facilities

Library: The college has a vast and resourceful library with about 48 national and international journals and 24,000 volumes of books to help students with research and learning.

Laboratories: The college has 3 laboratories that have the latest equipment.

Sports: There are both indoor and outdoor facilities for sports. Students from APSCE are regular achievers in tournaments sponsored by VTU at the State and National Levels. There is also a multi-Gymnasium.

Cafeteria: The college canteen provides healthy and wholesome food. It caters to both students and the faculty. It has a variety of food including fruit juices and cold drinks. The college charges a total fee of INR 34,000 per year.

Hostel: The college campus has hostel facilities for men accommodating nearly 150 students. Students can choose the type of room from the available single, double and triple occupancy. The college charges a total fee of INR 69,000 per year inclusive of a refundable caution deposit and food charges.

Transportation: The college though situated 26kms away from the major city, is well connected by a fleet of buses. The buses travel around the city and pick up students from all the major residential areas in the city. Private buses like BMTC and KSTRC also have a scheduled stop in front of the college, making travelling very comfortable. The college charges a total fee of INR 24,000 per year with an exclusion for students travelling from APS Educational Trust, NR Colony and Yelachenahalli, Metro Station.
Also, the college has Wi-Fi across the premises, AC Halls, Co-curricular Activities and Student Counselling.

Transportation

The college,located 26 kilometres from the city centre, boasts excellent connectivity through a modern fleet of buses. These buses efficiently pick up students from key residential areas across the city and ensure their safe return after college hours. Our transportation service extends beyond daily commuting, facilitating student participation in diverse academic events within the city and beyond.

A total of eight buses travels different routes within the city, catering to both students and staff. Furthermore, the accessibility of BMTC, KSRTC, and private buses, which frequently ply along the National Highway, provides an additional commuting option. Many of these buses have scheduled stops right in front of the college premises, further enhancing convenience for our college community.
