Adichunchanagiri Institute of Technology (AIT) is a premier Engineering college established in the year 1980 in Chikkamagaluru with the blessings of the Revered Jagadguru Padmabhushana Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Maha Swamiji, Pontiff of Sri Adichunchanagiri Maha Samsthana Math.  AIT is a renowned academic institution, dedicated to making College experience attainable and affordable for every talented scholar. The mission of Adichunchanagiri Institute of Technology is to provide Research-oriented, high-quality Education for Undergraduate, and Post graduate students in both Engineering and Business Management and to contribute to the solution of problems through Excellence and Distinction in Teaching, Research, and Service. The institute strives to impart an appreciation and broad understanding of the human experience throughout the world and across ages.  

 
The college campus is spread over a sprawling 65 acres of land with green surroundings and picturesque hillocks making it conducive for undisturbed education. The weather too is nice and pleasant throughout the year. It is located at AIT College Road, Jyothinagara, Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka. The world famous Belur Chennakeshava sculpture Temple in Chikmagalur city is about 20 km away. The renowned temple of Sringeri Sharadamba and Sri Shankaracharya Mutt is also nearby.

 
The Adichunchanagiri Institute of Technology is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and Recognized by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. The Institute is Accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with “A” grade and was also Accredited twice by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

 
Courses offered at AIT are BE/BTech (in 8 disciplines), MTech (in 6 disciplines), MBA, PhD & MSc (Engg). The eligibility for admissions to the UG programs with an intake of total 600 students annually is based on KEA CET/COMEDK scores.  MTech courses have an annual intake of 81 students in total and the eligibility for admissions is a pass in B E/ B.Tech or equivalent examination followed by a written test conducted by the university for candidates and rank list is obtained, based on which, the admissions are carried out through single window counseling. The admission for MBA is based on PGCET score for a total annual intake of 60 students.  For Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), admission notification documents across various entries. Deserving students are given Scholarships as per their eligibility.

Human Resource Development at AIT is the Training & Placement framework for helping the students to develop their personal and organizational skills, knowledge, and abilities to enrich students with various qualities and skills to achieve Professional and Personal excellence so as to enhance their personality as well as help them get placed in an excellent organization.  The Department informs the students of industry needs and motivates them on the importance of maintaining good academic scores.  Online and Offline Placement-related and Industry-related Seminars, Training and Development programs are conducted to prepare the individual to excel in Logical and Analytical Skills and gain practical knowledge through analysing real life situations.

The mission of Adichunchanagiri Institute of Technology is to provide research-oriented, high-quality education for undergraduate, and graduate students in both engineering and business management and to contribute to the solution of problems through excellence and distinction in teaching, research, and service.

The institute strives to impart an appreciation and broad understanding of the human experience throughout the world and the ages. 

• 45 % of the seats will be filled by Government of Karnataka through Karnataka Examination Authority with CET ranking
• 30% of the seats will be filled through COMEDK
• 25% seats through Management quota
• In addition to sanctioned intake, 20% seats are allotted under lateral entry quota
• Also, 5% seats are allotted by KEA under Super Numarory Quota (SNQ) as per Govt order
• Few of the students are allotted by AICTE under PMSS quota for J&K students. PMSSS May be verified (after 370 article)

Duration:

• 4 years (8 Semesters)

Eligibility:

• Students who have passed PUC/10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects Chemistry /Computer Science / Electronics/ Biotechnology / Biology, with at least 45% of marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category as per Government order) in the above subjects taken together.
• Lateral Entry to Second Year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E): Passed Diploma examination from an AICTE approved institution, with at least 45% marks  in the final year examination(fifth and sixth semesters)(40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology.
• For admission under management quota, students should compulsorily appeared in CET/COMEDK/JEE or any other entrance test for professional program.

Human Resource Development is the framework for helping students to develop their personal and organizational skills, knowledge, and abilities so as to enhance their personality as well as help them get placed in an organization which has global presence. AIT is one of the very few colleges where the concept of HRD has been implemented and proved successful. The HR Department is sincerely working to empower students with various qualities and skills to achieve professional and personal excellence. The HRD is playing a major role in transforming the students to the expectations of the industry. All the students are informed about the necessity of maintaining good academic scores and are motivated regularly to achieve the same. Training programs and industry related seminars are routine and the students are exposed to these kinds of programs from the very first day they step into the college. These programs along with mock tests, both offline and online, have been made mandatory and evaluation procedures are followed which are in line with those required by the corporate world. They are being prepared to be individuals with logical and analytical skills and with excellent practical knowledge.
