In 1984, Andhra Muslim College, Guntur was established by Janab Umar Khan, Ex. M.L.A.,  vide G.O.Ms.No. 510 Education (J) Department, dated 28-11-1984 of Government of Andhra Pradesh under the management of Mohammadiya Education Society.

The college is affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur and run to the entire satisfaction of the University and Government with B.A., B.Com. and B.Sc. courses and also intermediate courses with CEC, HEC, MPC, BiPC & HCML (Urdu). The college is having the Study Centre of Moulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad and imparting coaching in distance mode for all the courses offered by the Moulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU).
