Annapoorana Engineering College (AEC) was instituted in the academic year 2009 – 2010, with the Approval of Government of Tamil Nadu and AICTE, New Delhi. Pursuing the philosophy of continuous learning, the Institution prepares the students to score creditably in the Academic sessions and also encourages them to develop their interpersonal and intrapersonal skills and attitudes to approach life with confidence.

Annapoorana Engineering College (AEC) was promoted by the famous Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal Medical Educational and Charitable Trust (TKVTSSMEC Trust) in the year 2010. The trust is a pioneer in offering higher education for over 3 decades in the fields of Medicine, Engineering, Dental, Pharmacy, Nursing, etc. It is always striving to impart quality education to all the students by providing state of art facilities, good academic ambience and opportunities to interact with Top Academicians / Professionals and right motivation to take part in co-curricular and extracurricular activities, thereby enabling them to develop deeply into the aspects of modern technology.

Annapoorana Engineering College has below criteria for taking admissions to it's various courses
B.E. / B.Tech Candidate must have passed VIII, IX, X, XI & XII Std. from schools situated in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu native candidate who have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI & XII Std. or their equivalent exam from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply. They should produce Original Nativity Certificate. Children of Central Government Employees, irrespective of their nativity, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years can be eligible to apply. Sons & daughters of All India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers are eligible to apply. A Self declaration from the parent in this regard is to be produced. Children of employees in the Public Sector or Government recognised institutions had been working in their organisations for the past five years are also eligible, irrespective of their domicile. Other State candidates who have studied VIII, IX, X, XI and XII Std. in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply.
M.E./M.Tech Candidate who have completed 10+2+AMIE or 10+3 years Diploma + AMIE are also eligible. AMIE candidate must have 2 years regular full time experience in the relevant field.

Placement Cell interacts with the reputed organizations all over the country for arranging campus interviews for the final year students. We make efforts to organize technical seminars, workshops and corporate expectation sessions. Industry personnel are invited periodically to enrich the knowledge of our student community with the latest technological innovations and industry practices. We produce graduates who are well equipped to handle the working norms of the industry and commerce in the public and private sectors and helping every student to define his/her career interest through individual counseling through experts.

To achieve 100% placement for students through dedication, attitude and complete involvement is our mission. Training and Placement Cell arranges and coordinates various programmes that aim at moulding the students so as to meet the industry expectations in career building and in turn bring laurels to the parent institution. The Training and Placement Cell, guided by a set of rules and principles, strives to maintain good relationship with industries. Preparing the recruitment schedule for the year, inviting corporations for pre-placement talks on the campus followed by final placements, and overseeing the process to its end,is the responsibility of the Training and Placement Cell. The Cell endeavors to carry out successfully all the processes methodically throughout the year.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions: Students who need loan from bank, our college will help them by giving bonafide certificates etc. Our state government is providing different scholarships for different backward community students for their development. Our college helps the students to get all these scholarships in each manner.

Annapoorana Engineering College (AEC, Salem) has two separate hostels for girls inside the campus. The respective messes attached to the hostels provide hygienic and quality food. R/O drinking water is supplied, and Spacious outdoor and indoor games facilities are provided for the students. A Qualified Medical officer visits the hostels thrice a week to take care of the health of the students. There are separate generators as standby for a supply of electricity continuously. A vehicle in the hostel for emergency use is in place on a 24/7 basis.

Gym Facilities
The college has a Power Gym for both boys and girls with facilities such as Bench Press, Tumbles, etc. The institution has a gym for boys and girls. The gym facility is open from 6 AM to 8 AM and 5.30 PM to 7.30 PM including Sundays & holidays.

Library Facilities
Annapoorana Engineering College (AEC, Salem) Central Library is the heart of any Institution. The Central Library of the college serves as a powerhouse of knowledge and also serves as a resource center with a comprehensive collection of books and journals useful for the faculty and students of the institute and provides an efficient dissemination of knowledge. The Central Library is located in a spacious block of 755 sq.m. with a fully computerized Digital System of adopts an “open access” system which enables the readers to go to bookshelves and select books and other resources by themselves freely. There are more than 7865 Titles and 19784 volumes of books available for usage and subscribes to 100 current journals at the national and international level as print copies to cover a wide range of engineering subjects to facilitate users to access current academic and research literature. It has computerized all its housekeeping activities using Library software AUTOLIB which is being maintained and updated regularly. This enables users to search and avail themselves of library resources. The online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) facility is being followed and all the transactions are automated to save the precious time of the students. The unique feature of Central Library is its total utilization.

Sports Facilities
The college has a Physical Director to train both boys and girls. Specific sporting events are held on the sports day every year. The institution encourages the students to take part in university, district, and state sports and games.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students. COMPUTING FACILITIES: Air–conditioned Central Computer Centre with 450 computers, 15 MBPS internet connectivity, Wi-Fi Enabled Campus, Free Auto – CAD Training, and free CNC.
