Baselios Thomas I Catholicose College of Engineering and Technology is a new generation Engineering college affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The college provides scholarship for weak and deserving students. College also have a full fledged placement cell functions at BTCC to coordinate placement and training for students to appear for interviews and group discussions during their final semesters. College offers Btech Degree in five disciplines of engineering.

A candidate must have passed plus two science group with at-least 60% marks in aggregate and 50% or more marks in Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics separately.Admission to the Under Graduate programmes will be based on entrance examination conducted by the commissioner of entrance examinations, Govt of Kerala.

Boys Hostel
The college has a Hostel facility is available for boys. Currently, only limited seats are available for hostel accommodation. Both AC (On-Demand) and non-AC rooms on a shared basis are available.

Girls Hostel
The college has a Hostel facility is available for girls. Currently, only limited seats are available for hostel accommodation. Both AC (On-Demand) and non-AC rooms on a shared basis are available.

Library
The college library has a growing collection of about 5000 books in various branches of Engineering, Technology, and Sciences. There are also plenty of volumes dealing with Social Sciences and Literature. Reputed National and International Journals are also subscribed to provide the latest information on the various subjects of study. The library has subscribed e-journals of IEEE and ASME, J-GATE and so on. The library is fully computerized using an integrated multi-user library management system where a faculty or a student can avail the facilities from anywhere from the campus. The package supports all the in-house operations of the library. The Library uses bar-code technology for the computerized circulation system. The reference collection of the library is housed in a separate area. Photocopy service is provided at a nominal cost.
