An Institutional research committee has been formed at BIDS to promote research and publications by the students and the faculty.The committee will conduct a scientific review of the research proposals by the faculty.The ambit of research work in the institution includes monitoring of research and allied academic disciplines.

 BIDS
Established in the year 1991 under the dynamic leadership of Mr. K Subba Rao, Chairman, VEF, the Institution has grown leaps and bounds. The first batch of students passed out of the college on 8th November 1995 which happens to be the red letter day when the premier Dental Council of India gave recognition to the Institution. The year 2002 saw the first batch of Post-graduates leaving the Institution in the following six Specialities:-

In order to pursue a BDS degree, aspirants are required to appear and qualify for the National Eligibility Entrance Test. The admission process for the BDS degree comprises filling out the application form for NEET, followed by admit card, conducting the exam, results, and counselling.

After completing the BDS programme, dental graduates are permitted to use the term doctor as the prefix 'Dr' before their names. After earning a doctorate in dentistry, there are numerous chances for lucrative work and further education. It is a professional field with a high rate of job placement.

Boys Hostel
The college has a boy’s hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

Girls Hostel
The college has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

Medical/Hospital
The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.


Library
The Library of Bangalore Institute Of Dental Sciences is located on the Second Floor of the college building. It provides study and research facilities for the Faculty of Dentistry and the Basic Medical Subjects. The Dental Library maintains extensive collections of books and journals for all the related subjects. The college has an excellent Health Sciences library with state-of-the-art facilities. The library has been carefully planned to have more space & natural lighting for the comfort of students. It can accommodate 150 students at a time. The library is well-equipped with different resources. It has an undergraduate section that can accommodate a minimum of 150 students and a postgraduate section that can accommodate a minimum of 60 students. The library has more than three thousand books in the circulation section and the library also has reference collections on Dental and Medical subjects. The library has a regular subscription to one hundred and thirty International and national journals on Health Sciences.
